Adding a Limit holdem section

    Default Adding a Limit holdem section

    I know the stuff at the top says No-Limit Texas Hold'em, but many topics in the forum deal with Limit hands. Maybe it would be easier to find pertinent topics if there's separate sections for Limit and NoLimit.

    Aye. I really think this site is now more of an all around poker strategy forum. We have a diverse group of players among our membership.

    We already have a lot of limit hands, and I don't see a problem with where or how they are posted. Adding a limit section wold just be a lot of extra work.

    I'm kinda with Humphy.


    I wouldn't actually create an entire category for limit hold'em (with its own set of forums, i.e., Limit Hold'em Strategies, Limit Hold'em Hand Histories, Limit Hold'em Tournament Tactics, etc.). But rather, one forum under the Texas Hold'em category for Limit Hold'em.

    I just think that the distinction would be so slight that people are bound to misplace their LHE threads... time and again.


    I could be wrong, though. Do other poker forums separate no-limit and limit hold'em into separate forums?

    Except when specified otherwise (FTR Community, Omaha, etc) I thought this whole place was more of a general holdem site.

    i agree with the segregation and think that this would be quite sufficient.

    speaking of segregation - can we start limiting what topics our european members cough toasty cough can access?

    I agree with the idea, and suggest Fnord to be the moderator of that section.

    I also think that one limit section could cover all limit specific topics and histories, particularly since I haven't seen many limit tournament histories posted. Then Hold'em Histories could be a section devoted entirely to NL ring play.

    WHEW!!!


    Now I know why I was putting this off. Our forum is FAT! It took me over 4 hours to sort through all the messages to move all the LHE threads to the new forum.

    But it is DONE!


    So basically, here's how it works now:

    - Hold'em Strategies is for NO-LIMIT (or pot-limit) or general strategies that apply to all Hold'em.
    - Hold'em Hand Histories is for NO-LIMIT (or pot-limit) hands only.
    - Tales of Poker is for NO-LIMIT (or pot-limit) Hold'em only.
    - LIMIT Hold'em Strategies and Histories is exclusively for all FIXED-LIMIT Hold'em-specific topics, histories and tales.
    - Tournament Tactics and Histories is for ALL Hold'em tournament strategy discussions, histories and tales. Since tourney strategy is unique to itself, I figure all tourney topics can go here.


    Not the prettiest forum org at the moment, but we'll try this out and I'll see if there's a better way to categorize these forums.


    If anyone has any further suggestions, please let me know.
