You're thinking about the wrong things, and you're thinking about those things wrong. When you have a strong hand against weak players the dominating thought should be "value". Bet flop and turn large so we can stack a jack or at least get value from a single diamond.
Yeah it's a habit I have had for a while and I can't seem to break it. I usually think along the lines of "Villain could have ATC here, in this hand for example he could have 92dd", and I absolutely hate the thought of v-towning myself.
I know it's the wrong way to think and I am trying to change it.
