Event [spoonitnow strategy] Study Poker With Spreadsheets (Part 1): The Basics

A few weeks ago, I promised a series showing how to study poker using spreadsheets. This week, we start that series. There are some prerequisites that you’ll need to have under your belt before you can get started with this series. First, you need to work through the EV Calculations Tutorial series. To make it easier on you, I’m going to provide links to each of the six parts of that series here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, and Part 6. This spreadsheet series is going to be an application of what’s learned in that series, so make sure that you understand it before going forward.

One thing it might be worth doing is adjusting the % calls to be "=1- %folds" that way you only need to update one cell when playing around with it.

As for the homework, surely the EV of checking is just 0? If we had any equity it'd be (pot)*(% Equity) right?

    If so here

    Spoiler:
EV of checking here is (Hero Equity)*(Pot), so in the case of our spreadsheet where I guess we have zero equity our eV of checking is zero making it the better option in this scenario. We could add a cell to our spreadsheet for hero equity and then fill in the appropriate formula with the appropriate cell numbers for the eV of checking, which I did do, but didn't want to screenshot and upload etc. etc.

    Good work. Keep it up.
