    Default WTF has happened

    Long time no post.
Got out of poker whenever the hell it was a few years ago that the Feds shut down stars and FTP to US players. I was pissed and annoyed, and deep into work and starting my family so I kind of slowly figured that was the end for my poker life. Basically I had spent a few years building a roll of $10k from $100 initial deposit, and compared to income in real life it's a drop in the bucket.. If the Feds are really that bent on restricting my liberty, I can either decide to leave the country or give up because poker was not THAT important to me. So I gave up and got deeper into other hobbies and interests in the little spare time I had.

Now I've got none of my roll online although my wife and I still consider it my roll, money earmarked for poker. Really haven't played and am considering getting back at it.

I'm ok with starting from scratch with a small deposit and rebuilding skills and confidence at the micros.

Looking for recommendations of where to go, what deals are good, where are there ample micro levels, etc.

    Cheers

Not many places to play for an American, just some obscure rooms with huge rake and not much fish. And I don't know if they are to be mentioned here, like being partners. http://www.pokerscout.com/ shows bodog as biggest room for USA
If things were to magically revert to January 1st, 2003, only I could take everything I know now in terms of poker ability/knowledge, bonus clearing, etc., I think it's safe to say that it would be trivially easy to make over a million dollars.

Wow, I guess I should have read some posts before posting myself. I just got back too LOL! And I remember you from the "glory days". Welcome back! I guess there will be more filtering back in. I put 1k into SportsBook because they have a 200% match and it was simple to deposit. Only problem I have so far is lack of quantity of tables to jump on. You just gotta jump on whatever is available. And if you want full ring, they are harder to find. The bonus is painfully slow to earn at lower stakes - I'm playing .25/.50 right now. I'll have to move up to clear it faster, but since I only have 1k bankroll in there I don't want to go too quick.

Anyway, besides sportsbook there is bovada (was bodog??) and carbon poker and a couple others.

Bovada has plenty of fish, but read up on the site's "anonymous" player policy. It's not for everyone.

This is just totally not true. WPN's traffic has been steadily climbing and is actually not too bad these days. There's Revolution, Merge, WPN, Bovada, etc.

Kind of annoying when someone comes into a thread and posts purely bogus information.

Bovada sounds like the way to go for me. Will continue to lurk and research a but more then decide for sure if I'm really getting back in the game.
r8ed... I remember you too, from glory days. Good to see others in a similar mindset. I played mostly sng and mtt so just started getting into 6 max nl before the sites got shut down.

    Thanks all.

I can tell you that I'm having fun so far playing because I'm playing limits below what I ended at prior and less tables at once. I guess I made it more stressful for myself way back trying to grind out money quickly for no real reason. But now I'm taking it easier. Since this is just a side hobby for me, no real reason to push it. I get the feeling if you approach it in an similar way you will have fun too. Then take it from there.
