Default $10 SnG flopped two pair, misplayed?

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forums, but I've been reading them for quite a while now. Just wondering how you guys would play these.

Queen -Ten suited to that raise?
    Preflop I would drop it
    Since 2pr flopped w/2 diamonds
    I would 3x(re-raise) pop it.

    (I don't know why - just because)

(Actually I'd probably lead out for 300-400 on that flop with a flush and straight draw possible)

I would of played it differently by folding to the raise. The hand sucks and you don't have pos.

If you don't fold this preflop next time, I will send my fist to meet your junk's acquaintance.

    Reads on Mary?

Flop - the check is okay if you know that Mary is an aggressive player and you're willing to gamble that she didn't hit a set. Any meaningful raise puts you close to being pot committed - raise her to 800, and you can still get away with 1000 left in your stack if you have a read that she hit a set - but I'd be willing to gamb00l here against a random person that pushes over top of you.

If if gets checked behind and a diamond pops up on the turn, be prepared to drop it.

That seems to be the general consensus among my friends too. I figured from the bb I could sneak in on it, if I hit two pair or an OESD/flush draw, go from there, otherwise drop it. What wound up happening was I pushed his bet, to which he called...

    LordDrg7: raises 1570 to 1870 and is all-in
    MaryQB8: calls 1275 and is all-in

The chances of you hitting two pair or better is like 3% (and that's being generous)

The chances of you hitting your OESD are 8%, and THEN you actually need to hit your straight, which (assuming you can get everything in on the flop) is around 33%.

So you've got a 3% of getting a (presumably) winning made hand on the flop, and a 2.5% of hitting a straight.

You're calling off 10% of your stack in a *tournament* situation for something that will hit around 5.5% of the time? Stop doing this, unless you like giving money away.

You could factor in some folding equity on the flop when you flop an OESD (or even when you miss completely) but I wouldn't want to touch that without reads on our opp, and you're nowhere near where you need to be pushing any two - overall, it's going to be a losing play calling a 4xBB raise with QTs

I appreciate the aggressive shoving-in-my-face of the play. I really will try to remember not to do that again, lest my junk be threatened.

Haha, while I'm posting this reply, playing a 9 hand ring game ($.50/$1.00) and Q 10 just won ~$150 on the river with a full house. ::sigh:: the irony. Wish it was my Q 10

edit: honestly, no sarcasm above. It sounds caustic, not my intention
