    Default Headphones at home tournaments?

Ok, well i have been to a few home tournaments now and I am considering taking a cd player next time. I think it would get me more in the zone, and if i make a bluff, i can concentrate on the music to keep me from revealing anything. I was wondering if any of you wear headphones and listen to music, and I was wondering if it helps keep the table talk from annoying you and helps you get in the zone or what. Haven't tried wearing them yet, but since I have seen it in the wsop I am wondering..maybe it does make a difference and keep you more relaxed and what not?

Ok, well give me your opinions if you wish, thanks

When I go to a home game I am sure to have at least some of my friends there. I want to know what's going on, but more importantly, I want to chat and have fun with my friends.
I don't know what they have to say
    It makes no difference anyway.
    Whatever it is...
    I'm against it.

I don't own headphones but that's beside the point. If it is a friendly home game you need to listen in and be social. Some may think it is rude to tune everyone out with headphones. If you don't know anyone and you don't particularly care what anyone thinks by all means do what you need to do to play your best.

homegames for me are typically bunch of buddies who come over and chill while playing poker. sure winning is the definte goal but screwing around is also a highlight of the night.

Being social with the group we play with is a higher priority than a little edge anyone might get by "tuning in". I'm not sure we'd invite anyone back who was that focused on winning.

"I'm just here to take your money" wouldn't go over well in our game.

focused on winning, and here to take your money are the same thing? right? So how can you let someone focused on winning play, and one focused on taking the money not play?

I got confused, maybe that isnt what you meant..

I agree with him. If you just wanted to play poker and you'd like to shut out everyone in my home game, I can give you a list of other places that you might like to play, without the "inconvience" of friends.

He's a "Dutch" fan, what did you expect?

I would absolutely tell someone to remove the headphones at my home game. I would also tell them to leave the table if they are talking on a cell.

Some things are just rude, especially when someone else is bothering to host the game. Even considering wearing headphones at a home game shows a total lack of respect in my opinion.

In a casino...by all means. Is there a rule against this in any casinos that anyone knows about?
