Well, am I pot commited? I had stolen from this guy once before, and he had showed little aggression. But with my 2400, and 800 dead in the pot im calling 4700 for a 15k+ pot. I figured he had at least 1 over, maybe 2. Do you call?

A little better than 3:1 to decide your tourny with T6o?

Well Im a shortstack If I fold here, Im basically either folding and hoping I catch cards later, or calling and hoping I catch cards now.

I had enough chips left to recover, but it would have been hard, and theres also a possibility he had low pockets, making it a coinflip and a definate call.

You are raising to much to steal. Make it 3xBB, and if u get pushed all in you can still reevaluate ur stacks and ur play.

getting 3:1, you are essentially paying 25% of the pot.
Against the top 10% of hands you are about 27% to win with T6o
Against the top 20% of hands you are about 29% to win. Both are higher than 25%.

So technically, pot odds dictate you call. Harrington lovesssss pot odds. I do not.

By the way you are NOT pot committed.

If you fold you are at 8k. Which leaves u a decent M of 10 (ill let u figure out what that means once u get HoH 2). You can still play and live afterwards even if you fold.

    Recap
Dont raise that much to steal.
You can fold and still be ok, you are NOT pot committed.
You can call becuase the pot odds are there.

And yes, I pimp HoH2 hard.

Blinds are 300/600. You'll be left with 8k.

    It's an easy fold.

Well, I called because I really expected a coinflip, in which case i will easily call 3500 into a 14k pot, but if it wasnt a coinflip, I figured I had at least 40% odds of taking it down, thinking he had something like A-3 or K-9.

Much to my suprise he had 6-8 which my 10-6 dominated. I know I got lucky that he really didnt have anything, but I think that my play was justified (only because of my oversized blind steal which was a bad move). Thanks for all the input though.

Gabezor, when its a big part of ur stack, is it always a good idea to call? Even if its 3:1? Is there a point where his stack is too small to warrant a call? Do pot odds only rule when calling all ins? I dont chase most straights and flushes even with "good" pot odds early on.

The pot is big enough so that the few times you win, you will have a really nice stack, so that evens out from the times you have a really short stack.

I might fold somtimes if the player is really tight and i know they have a big pair, but that's rare.

Yea, I dont think the pot odds matter so much when its a big part of your stack. But I figured with blinds goin up quick I was gonna need to make a move soon. I figured this was a better chance than waiting aroung for AK.
