    Default Question about tourneys

Hi today i played a 250 players freeroll with a prize pool of 250$.

It was a private tourney in poker stars.

After some time i was 27e with 6000 chips which was a pretty good start.

Then comes at our table some real maniac. ALl this guy did was always ALL IN every single hands. So i waited for a couple of hands until i got dealth AdKd. I was pretty sure the guy had nothing special since all he did was all in all the times.

SO i call him all in and we were only us 2. he had 86o. Of course a 6 comes and nothing to help me and i loose 75% of my stack. Then the guy continue all in every times and i finally get

AJo....not a killer hand but again i was sure my hand was better than him and i had nothing to loose. He had J7o. Of course a 7 comes and nothing else to help me. I then loose and i was pretty mad.

I calculated the odds with PokerSTove. First hand i had 65% and second 75%.

My question is: Can we just say "bad luck, try again next time, you got unlucky" or i should have waited until he gets taken out or until i get something really killer like AA or KK.

    Thanks

Btw great forum, my favorite by far.

NO - you played it fine.

It's a freeroll - you get people like this going AI with any 2 cards. You had the right read both times and went with it. He lucked out but in the longterm you will come out ahead.

Agreed. Good calls both times, sometimes the cards just don't fall right.

You shouldn't reasonably expect to get a better edge than 60% pre-flop. Both good decisions.

yeah nothing you casn do its just bad luck, you had him were you wanted him and lost, thats just bad luck, on most days youll double up and be in good shape t0 win the tournament so stick to ur game plan.
