Default When you are running good...

18 left of a 70 person $50 MTT. FT pays, top 3 pays good. I have 6.5k (little above average) blinds 150/300. QQ utg + 1. Open it for 1200 all fold SB calls. Flop is K high and he leads for 1k. I make it 2. He pushed immediatelly... I called and lost to KT. Was really running good at that point both in the MTT and at ring, and had (or at least thought I had a great read that he didnt have the K)

    My thought proccess:

he leads (somewhat week) = weak king/lower PP than mine.
I raise him small = I have a better King/you dont have the King.
he pushes = he is making a move on me cause I min raised (or thats what you think idiot)
I call = lets see if all the above was correct...

    Mistakes done in the hand:

I should have PUSHED when he led at the pot. Adds the benefit that he can lay down his weak King.

I CALLED for all my chips. Has nothing to do the hand since I believed I was ahead but its a fundamental concept in poker: "If you are gonna go out, dont go out calling for all your chips"

Should I have gotten involved on the flop? Maybe, maybe not. But like I said I was running really good till that point

    Thoughts?

Tough tough hand. And calling off your chips SUCKS! I did it last night and was horrified...

Anyways, I think I would have made a bigger raise....say 3500. Really test him on his hand and show strength. If he pushed, I would just go by my read. If you thought you were ahead(and you did).....you have to call.

usually when people push after being raised, you can put them on a pretty good hand. its an easy fold after he pushes...too bad the flop wasn't ten high.

Yeah just some times its not that simple ABC poker. I had a read (I was wrong) for this player cause I know him and he knows me, blah blah blah, I went with it, I lost. Happened before, will happen again.

1 week ago $30 MTT (small around 100 people) 1st hand at FT blinds at 100/200. I have just almost tripled up last hand with JJ fh vs flush also busting the 11th player and my stack was 7K with average stack at 7-8 K.
Folded to me on the SB I make a steal attemt with K9 raising it up to 800 chips. BB calls flop comes J high rainbow rags. I bet 1200 he raises to 2400. I flat call him and check the turn. He thinks for a while and pushes hes remaining 3k. I CALL him with K high river is a T i think and he flips Q9. It was one of these time that YOU KNOW you have it. I coulda push the turn my self and take the pot there.

After that the table was just SOOO afraid of me that I ran it over and won.

Just saying that sometimes things are not that simple.
