Against that heinous background, my crimes were pale and meaningless. I was a relatively respectable citizen - a multiple felon, perhaps, but certainly not dangerous.

I hate min-raises. Has he been re-raising a lot like that or just taking advantage of position and folding equity?

I also hate min-raises, but the opportunity to double up here outweighs my fear of AA or KK, especially against a guy who has been "raising more often, putting pressure on."

My point was that if his pressure included re-steals similar to this, then I have no worries about pushing over him... If he had just been position raising and stealing, then I worry more but probably still play it. In that situation, I would have to have a serious read that the guy is TAABTA before folding. I don't mind pushing but would probably prefer a stop and go on an A and K-less flop.

I'd probably call it, and with an A-K less flop, bust out the guns.

Well, you have four options, call, fold reraise, or push. All have been covered. What'd you do?

    DTHORNE04 - All-In(Raise) $10355 to $12755
    VLACO - Calls $7955
    *** FLOP *** [Js 2s 9d]
    *** TURN *** [Js 2s 9d] [4h]
    *** RIVER *** [Js 2s 9d 4h] [2h]
    *** SHOW DOWN ***
DTHORNE04 - Shows [Qd Qh] (Two Pairs, queens and twos)
VLACO - Shows [Ac Ah] (Two Pairs, aces and twos)
VLACO Collects $27160 from main pot

I almost knew it when he did it, but of course I got blinded by the strength of my hand. I have done that too often lately, and it's a leak I need to fix. This hand really bothers me, because what hands would he do that with? AK, AQ, JJ, TT, 99 he most likely puts in a more standard reraise. AA and KK are the most likely candidates. Call it playing scared...but it's something I need to fix if I ever hope to be a long term winner in this game. I still had plenty of chips left over...

If he had been standard raising, then yes his sudden minraise should send off warning bells. But as far as getting blinded by the strength of your hand... QQ is a very good hand. You are focusing on results which is also a leak. If you are confident that you should have read him for only AA or KK then you can be a bit upset about not folding preflop there. Otherwise all your chips were going in the middle there no matter what, so move on.

I won't say I was 100% sure, but of course alarms arose. I mean...I know I'm being hard on myself, and I am a bit results based, unfortunately. I guess I take it too seriously sometimes, but, I just want to win, and be a long term winning player in the game. That's all.

I always trust my gut instinct read unless I see the player do something unconciously that may be a tell. Online, we don't have those, so its all first gut instinct for me if analyzing the situation doesn't give me any additional help. Decision poker, not results poker. Don't beat yourself up over this one.
