Resistance Sign Up
First 10 people to sign up get to play. I will place people who sign up 11th on as reserve players. They will also be guaranteed a spot in the next match. Please only sign up if you plan on contributing every day. None of this "been too busy with work" shit.
Rules (most rule sets differed in minor ways to I combined what I thought were the best options for balance)
6 Resistance Members and 4 Imperial Spies. Roles are randomly assigned. Spies will be notified of the other spies' identities. However, no communication outside of the game thread (except for sending me mission PMs) is allowed.
There are 5 missions (rounds). Win condition is whoever wins 3 rounds (points) first. Essentially it's a best of 5. Round conditions progress following the below charts:
Rounds:
1: 3 players sent on mission. 1 failure vote required for mission failure.
2. 4 players sent on mission. 1 failure vote required for mission failure.
3. 4 players sent on mission. 1 failure vote required for mission failure.
4. 5 players sent on mission. 2 failure votes required for mission failure.
5. 5 players sent on mission. 2 failure votes required for mission failure.
Each round consists of a day and night.
At the beginning of the game I randomly generate an ordered list. This will determine the leader.
Day: The leader is selected (first on list) and proposes (via PM to me) which players (can include himself) he is sending on the mission (# of players to be sent depends on round). The thread will then be opened and players are allowed to discuss and vote to pass the mission (yay) or reject the mission (nay). Voting should follow normal werewolf rules with a bolded Yay or Nay. When 6 votes for either yay or nay or time limit (48 hours for now) is reached, the voting ends. If the time limit is reached, the majority vote will be the winner. The mission passes in the event of a tie.
If the mission passes, we proceed to Night. If it is rejected, the leadership role passes to the next person on the list, the thread is locked, the player sends me a PM with his mission proposal, I open the thread stating the new proposal, and we repeat the voting. A mission can be rejected 4 times in a row (4 different proposals). If we get to a 5th leader in a single round, the newly elected leader decides on the mission and we proceed to night.
Night: When a mission is finally agreed upon, the thread is closed. Players selected for that mission must send me a PM. Resistance players must send a mission success vote. Spies can send me a mission success or failure vote. Once all votes are received, I will reveal the result of the vote. Based on the chart above, in the first 3 rounds, the spies win if there is one failure vote. The spies will win the final two rounds if there are 2 failure votes.
Once the night ends, I will announce whether the mission failed or succeeded. A point is award to the Resistance if the mission succeeds. A point is rewarded to the Spies if the mission fails. I will reveal which votes were cast, but not who voted for what. (I.e. there were two success and one failure vote on night 1).
I will then assign the leader role to the next player in line, and we begin the next round.
Game notes:
There can be absolutely no PMs outside of the thread except to me. The spies know each other's identities but they can not communicate outside of the game thread to coordinate votes. This is very important because a big part of this game is deciding whether or not to vote failure based on what you "think" your other spies will do.
For example: In round 1, only one spy needs to vote failure. If three spies are selected to go on the first mission, who will vote failure? All of them voting for failure reveals 3 spies. 2 failure votes reveals 2/3 spies. One vote is ideal but what if they all are afraid to vote? Then they lose the round. They may also do that on purpose to hide for later failure votes. However, all this has to be guess work based on your knowledge of your fellow spies and how they might operate. Collusion outside of the game ruins the integrity of the game.
Failure to vote two rounds in a row will result in your replacement with a reserve player or (in the event of no reserves) the player is killed and his role is revealed.
