He could easily have AXs here aswell, on AXo for that matter. Heads up tourneys tend to have a lot of stupidly passive players on them.

My point exactly.

A good heads up player would be raising any ace preflop heads up (unless of course it's raised before them, in which case it 'depends').

Most heads up players are stupidly passive and limp pretty much anything preflop (including AA!).
