I have the odds to chase here?

This guy never raises preflop so I put him on an over pair despite him seeing alot of flops. I took feeble stabs on the turn and river. I'm sure somebody can point out how to play this better. A T,7 or 5 wins it for me.

It depends.

good answer. I'm not too worried about how I play overpairs, i don't lay them down often, and i don't get destacked with them often. its always troubling to have an overpair, play it strong, and get played back at by a tag, because there's no reason for me to think jandje doesn't put me on an overpair.

so, let's say this hand happened that way. I bet it this way, jandje raised me on the flop to 13. i know him as a tag. your move? i think that's pretty much a situation where there is no good answer. btw, I was betting hard here because the table was really loose and i was expecting many calls.

The limited hands I have against you show that you were limping many hands but not raising preflop - probably because the table was loose aggressive.

If I had KK and somebody bet that flop big, I would push. There's no way they have a straight. I figured you had QQ or higher and wouldn't lay down to a bluff so I tried to stay in to hit my hand. I'm just wondering what you were thinking when I led out $5 after check-calling the flop. It would be good to know if that bet made you think at all. Same with the river.

the reason i mention i was 14/7, is because i only played 28 hands in that room, and i ended 17/8, so just saying maybe wait until you get a few more hands before you put any weight in them.

well, its tough to say what i'd do if you did bluff. i call 50/50, but here i probably would've folded. which is why i'm glad you didn't bluff.

with your turn bet, i thought you were either trying to get me to raise and be pot committed, or trying to control the pot size. I was happy just calling. after you bet just 5 on the river, i was pretty sure I had you beat as I think you bet more with a set and the like, but i figured a raise was a losing proposition because you'd fold junk and push with a better hand. its also hard to judge whether I should've raised the river without being results oriented.

As far as what I think of your play knowing your hand, I think its fine because you had odds the whole way. It was on me to reraise, and looking back I should've at least minraised. I would say though, in a case like this you gotta make sure you have your odds, because if you don't think i will fold to a bluff, why would I call a big bet when your scary outs hits.

This is just for the flop call obviously, which it appears that you did not have odds - on the turn, you bet, so it's fine then - even if the bet to you was $5 you're good.
