It seems like I've been dying a lot more to frag grenades and at longer distances since the new patch. Did they buff them up to make them non-worthless?
Also, I just finished level 70, so I'll probably play a few more games before kissing all my unlocks goodbye for a while.
I'll be at level 70 tomorrow. I'm going to play with the AK for like one round and then do prestige! I like the intro guns.
I agree. The FAMAS and SCAR-H are incredibly good and both are unlocked by level 8. You can use Sleight of Hand, Stopping Power, and Steady Aim from the start. It's not so bad.Quote:

Yeah, it's great. Stopping power makes it almost invincible from long distance.Quote:

Most of the stuff is pretty minor but in effect I usually use FAMAS with sleight of hand because outside of reload time I just think it's a better gun and SoH covers up that weakness. With bling (sight+silencer) I'll use M16. I rarely use scavenger with either. I think the FAMAS has better iron sights too, but that's just personal preference. I don't use them much anyway.
Also, both guns do the same damage (i.e. 40-30), despite what the in-game bars say.
anyone doing private match glicthes?? i have been lots of xp
Does it stroke your e-penis? Boosting is useless IMO...But, while on that note, I've been pleasantly surprized how many noobs do this to boost their way up to level 70, and then just come in and ROYALLY suck at any game they play. Just horrible running and gunning through the center of the map. Easy pickings!Quote:

I play the glitched game because i find it a fun break from the norm. 18ppl FFA us verry fun. Ive already prestiged once so i leveld the right way. I should prestge again next week maybe.
EDIT: I do very good when im drinking. I guess i get to that optimal level? haha. Sometimes better when drunk than sober!
How do you get onto the roof in high rise?
there's videos on youtube. Search mw2 highrise hidden spots or the like.
Holy crap. Any other secret spots I should know about?
irisheyes should start mw2runners imo
very good tyQuote:

The title is a few extra words but it provides a better description of the game experience
Or it could change it's name to the shorter version "This will make you punch babies"
Basically, by the south spawn on the east side (I think), there is one of those cart things hanging off the building. You make a sort of diagonal jump and you can climb it, then you run across the length of the map on one of those ledges, get to another cart, and jump up to the roof. You better have tactical insertion and a team willing to cover you, because you're pretty exposed for a while.Quote:

We should seriously make an FTR clan, or at least a team that plays together. There are so many little tricks you can do together as a team that would make for easy wins. Here's a thread from 2p2 talking about demolition strategy (there's also a much bigger miscellaneous one): http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/75...lition-642726/
It's frustrating playing with randoms who play objective games like they're team deathmatch (camping to get kills completely ignoring the objective) and team deathmatch like they're objective games (running around aimlessly getting slaughtered).
One more thing, I'm finding it's good to know the maps in 2D as well as in 3D.
Overhead maps: http://boardsus.playstation.com/play...read.id=693007
It's useful when trying to communicate something. For example, on highrise, the north spawn is the one with the two ledges overlooking the building (from the ladder jump and the beam walk). The south spawn is the one with all the offices. It's easy to navigate and communicate knowing that. It's also invaluable when calling in some of the kill streak awards, precision airstrike for example.
Just know where the domination points are. Its easier to remember. Like left of B works fine and if they dont know what that is facepalm.Quote:

Anyway, team game on Afghan, I plant one of those on one of the humvees near the bunker with two entrances. I'm there with most of my team and gunfire breaks out, other team lobs a grenade at us which really looked fairly innocent. Of course it triggered the claymore which blew up the humvee, killing myself and four of my teammates. Hilarity ensues.
FFA on invasion. I'm absolutely destroying people on 4 bars with SCAR+extended mags, claymore spam, etc. There happens to be a level 12 guy that I had to have killed at least 8 times. First with the SCAR, then claymores, then harrier, then pave low, and near the end of the game I am running around and plant a random claymore in the grass on the east side of the map. My pave low kills this guy for what should be one last time, then after a while of sitting on 29 kills, he trips my grass claymore for the game winner. I sat and laughed hysterically at the other guy tilting, rage quitting, etc.
so i just picked it up the other day...i finished in 10 hrs 16 mins...on regular...i am now going back for hardened.... then i will go out in the webs and see if i can do the online shit....for the most part..i'm good...see ya's..

Run around, hide, flank people from behind, run, hide, go around corners and through mazy buildings with sprint + tac knife, rinse, repeat. UMP is so clutch with a 3 hit kill at any range without stopping power.
It seems like people are completely oblivious when I'm shooting them. Is that just a function of the class and play-style or do SMG's have a certain advantage in that regard (e.g. are bullet markers are less obvious than an AR's)?
:)

bigred crushing. I stopped playing so much recently and now I suck and it hurts to play.
Play more then! I need to find a few more regs to play with. It's a lot more fun when you create a party and have a solid team in TDM. I notice my KD ratio is 1:! to 2:1 on a losing team and greatly increases on a winning team.Quote:

I've tried my mobililty class where I have marathon with akimbo UMP's and running around on that map just seems retarted.
I usually only play Deathmatch FWIW
Suggestions on how to conquer that map?
Underpass can be tricky. I usually tend to snipe on it, either with my thermal or more often with an acog. I like the tall grassy areas in front of the warehouse and on the side of it. Ill move between those two areas and down along the side.Quote:

I am level 22 I think on 2nd prestige now. I'm really trying to get used to the TAR. Up to mid-range it's beyond sick (fast rpm, 40-30, 30 round mag) but after that it's noticeably worse than the SCAR (which has better irons and less recoil).
ah well, those are the tradeoffs
of course sleight of hand + stopping power + FAMAS = epic ownage, but that just isn't fair
i dont know what it is about noob tubing but it brings such a massive fucking smile to my face when i do it at the end of my play. I dont know what it is about that just makes it so satisfying.Quote:

my irl trigger finger has ten stitches in it :(
I'm the same way Bbickes. I always like to yell "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM" in the mic whenever I get a kill with it. Noob tubing FTW!
i <3 noob tubers because they're easier to kill with ninja pro. my k/d has been outta control lately. my theory is all the sucky players have had the game long enough to start making it to lvl 60+, not that i'm a god at the game.
How are they easier to kill with ninja pro?Quote:

I've decided to take a few days off from MW2. If I don't have at least a 4:1 KD ratio I throw a fit and turn off the game. I need a break.
When I get home, and have COD hooked up online, BooG wants to prop on whether or not I can prestige in a week. I think it's doable, I just want everyone's take on how many hours I could expect to put in, what are the starting weapons so I can set up a couple of good classes to started off right, which games get most XP, etc. Or if you have a link to a forum or something with this info, much appreciated.
3d played is pretty std to prestiegeQuote:

The AUG + grip gives you perfect accuracy and 2 hit kills out to any range with clean iron sights. Commando and SoH pro helps with CQC and you just have to deal with slow movement speed. Also, striker goes pretty well with Sleight of hand and stopping power.
I haven't been playing much lately (I just got Assassin's Creed 2) but I saw that the new patch came out. Did the 1887s get nerfed?
o, rly? my mistake.
Yes they reduced the range and the damage but only when akimbod. Theyre still pretty strong tho.Quote:

I'm struggling with the sights (gun takes up a lot of room on the screen) and apparently SMG's don't get as much auto-aim assistance either. but it's very cool to have a free perk 2 and to be able to use ninja pro and still have great hipfire.
i agree lukie... the ump is great.....
Domination is my new favorite game mode. But only playing on a team that actually does teamwork so I usually only play with friends
UMP is one of my favorite guns. I've begun to use that a lot once I maxed out my P90. Having it silenced is deadly.Quote:

This is wrong. Single 1887 now has a shorter range than the spas-12 (before the 1887 had a longer range, regardless of akimbo), and akimbo now cuts range even further.Quote:

I'm not sure about all the damage figures. I want to say that damage reduces with range but it's hard to find reliable data and I don't have them unlocked anymore due to prestiging. It would definitely be a big nerf if they now did 40-20 damage, which they do according to this chart: http://denkirson.proboards.com/index...ead=613&page=1
Finally, there are people saying that pellets have been increased on the 1887 from 6 to 8. However, I was very sure that they already had 8 pellets, so I don't know.
FTR is so goddamn slow hyachachahcchchh
It doesn't have to be an either/or thing. Which one is better depends a lot on gametype and playstyle. All of the red perks happen to be really good, even if only for a small niche (lightweight pro for example).Quote:

Stopping power is awesome though. Some weapons just become so strong with it-- Famas/M16, TAR, AUG, RPD, etc. If the other team calls in a higher killstreak, try to get/stay inside and switch to a CB class when you die (preferably one with a stinger, because nobody else is going to shoot the thing down).
