TPTK line with drawy flop

Ive had problems recently releasing TPTK and overpairs, usually being too aggressive, hows this line?

Pre-flop ive tried to size my bets to 4x the bb plus 1xbb per limper, as ive seen reccomended, and ive increased the size of my cbets. On a board like this I considered folding on the flop but the strength of my hand I was c/f for the turn, and after he checked behind i felt that the odds were sufficient to call on the end, a weak suited ace maybe, KQ, 10J. thoughts/?

Value bet the turn. His line is weak/noobish. If he check raises you again, probably call and evaluate river. People that check raise a flop and then check a turn are usually not that strong. This is probably Ax. Play accordingly.

I usually take that line Rondavu, but because of my over aggression in a recent downswing ive started to lower my aggression on all streets, especially on a drawy board such as this, and keep pots small when ive only got a pair.

Villian turned over K10, a flopped straight. Obviously it could have been any hand and this isent me tryng to brag on my line or something.

Any further advice on how i played this "very badly"? I feel as though my preflop and flop line were ok, a reraise on the flop would have been bad I think, and I agree that the check on the turn was weak, but im behind to AQ, AJ, AA, KK, K10 QJ, although i doubt AA or KK from the check raise on the flop. Finally the river call, I think the pot odds definately call for it, i dont think a raise is good here. Just trying to get a better handle on TPTK as its one of my bigger losers

I would agree with Ron if there was one fewer broadway card on the flop. Frequently a call PF will contain two broadway cards so I would be cautious in this spot, sure you could be ahead but you are easily way behind in a spot like that: AQ, AJ, QJ, KT, etc. -- hands that you beat that might take this line would be diamond draws, A10 and down. I suppose it's possible villain could have KQ or KJ, but I don't see it as being as likely considering PF action and the raise.

I disagree that after a check-raise people are usually weak, considering this board. if the board was more raggy or paired I would agree about the check-raise being potentially weak, as its often a move people make to push off someone cbetting. But in this case you raised preflop so on a board like this you are very likely to have connected from opponents perspective. He expects you to continue betting.

And the c/r of a dollar looks more like newb pot building to me than a move -- a move would need at least $3

People will sometimes check the nuts, 2p, trips after a c/r because they can be scared of 'scaring you off' or think because you liked your hand on the flop, that you will bet again and they can potentially c/r once more.

I like it as played. Villain acted weak hoping you would do his pot building, which is a dumb but imo common line at these stakes (ppl love to slowplay at smaller stakes and often will not aggressively bet their good hands).

Did you have any sort of read on the villain? I've encountered this kinda player a lot at the low stakes. Difficult to play against the first time as his plays make little sense. I think his bet on the river probably gave the game away in retrospect, but his first check minraise coulda been a weak attempt at a bluff.

Make a note and he'll at least not be able to do it to you again.

not too much experience with the player, only 30 hands or so, didnt have too much of a read. These situations, and completely dry boards with TPTK seem to be where i get into trouble and Ive tried to sitback and evaluate more, and keep the pot smaller.

draw heavy flop, check raised the flop on you - With the 2 diamonds its easy to see how a lot of players here will do that with a flush draw (especially Axd) - Most of the time there its good to get to showdown as cheaply as possible...thats what u did here and I think its played fine - this is a hand where your way ahead or way behind so no need to bloat the pot like crazy against a guy who's 25/11...those are prety solid stats at 10NL and against these players you have showdown value, but you don't want to get nuts with the size of the pot - checking turn and calling the river is cheapest way to do that....I think against another player who's looser you would want to keep betting the turn and see what happens - but this is played well - just a flop that hits the hands that your against usually...

so has Party now turned into a 1 raise and you get heads up now? even at FR? that sucks....

I like it as played as well, basically for the reasons mentioned above (keeping the pot small on a draw heavy board with just TPTK).

I'm not sure how much value you get out of worse hands on the river. Some Ax hands may pay you off, but most hands you beat (i.e. missed flush draws - the most likely hand for him to have that you beat) are folding. None of the hands that beat you are folding.
