if i was in that situation i would probably have done the same. normally if someone raises on the flop and i didn't hit my A or K, i would fold if i didn't get good pot odds. however, what are the chances of him hitting a quad? more importantly why would he call a 3x bet with 8x preflop?

i hope this dude wasn't a chaser who hit his straight...

Granted, I don't know much about LHE, but by the time MP2 3-bets on the flop, wouldn't you put him on a pocket pair? Seems like you've overplayed your AK.

I think he won with a good pocket pair, but with him short stacked on the turn I would have done the same, raise and put him all in.

By then it's too late. Between the chance I hit one of my 6 outs (no reverse domination worries) and the chance I'm good, I'm pretty much tied to this HUGE pot. The beauty of his 3-bet is it got me heads-up with him.

My opinion is worth little considering my LHE experience is near zero, but I think I might have been just calling from the flop onwards. You do have odds to chase your 6 outs (assuming they are clean and he isn't AA/KK/A8s) but it's really hard not to put this guy on a pocket pair considering the pre-flop action. I mean, KJo?!? WTF! You have to hope that guy sits at your table a few more times in the future

Exactly, and putting in a raise on the flop might save me from splitting the pot, or set-up a win. I can see a small pocket pair folding to a raise, but calling it down otherwise. The key here is the pot is huge because of all of the pre-flop action.

The turn raise was just to speed up the action as a courtesy to the other players at the table. I wish more people would do this. One of my pet peves is people actually taking time to think in these situations!

I read in Book of Tells that it's generally considered bad etiquette to take a great deal of time to make a decision in LIMIT Hold'em, whereas, it's expected in no-limit.

No it applies to No-Limit too. Stupid shit like that drags out play of the hand, like:

$100 pot, with a $4 river bet to call, and taking several seconds to think about it!
Player with $5 remaining bets the flop/turn for $4, other player just calls.
One player has $20 left, the other player bets $18.

At some point, just put the guy all-in because he's going there anyway so the rest of us can get to the next hand...
