PL quite loose ringgame. i still have a habit of slowplaying good flops..but maybe i shouldnt here..?

I'm fairly new to this site and online play, but heres my 2 cents worth.

I also slow play good flops, but not on a board that has real potential to beat you; there was a straight and flush draw there. I would have bet to protect the pot - if I won a small pot, so be it (better than losing). If he decided to chase against pot odds, I would note that down on his player notes and make him pay me back next time. On a loose table especially I try not to let anybody chase because I have no idea what these idiots may be going in with on my preflop raises. You got unlucky on the river (otherwise you probably would have taken a nice pot), but it happens.

every action you took let him catch what he needed. you needed to bet the flop, you want to make the straight + flush draws pay. PL and NL differ in that sense. PL and even Limit require being paid off by the drawing hands. Your big mistake is calling a pot sized raise on a paired board with 3 to a straight and 3 to a flush.

Here's how I would have played this different, and I'm not sure there was much you can do here to avoid the result:

1. limp KQos from early position, its just not strong enough for a raise (and fold it to a raise)

2. bet .50 on the flop (you want to keep him in and get value so you start him small to build the pot - also there are two nasty draws staring at you)

3. the 4 looks like a blank so bet 1/2 the pot - he will call here but he may raise - if he raises you may be able to put him on the boat when..

4. the second 4 looks like a blank too but if he overbets it you may be able to let it go give the action in step 3

yes i realise now that it was stupid 2 slowplay this..since it was such a dangerous flop.. at least i learned alot from it, thnx to your answers i wont slowplay those hands again. the fishes call me anyway so why not bet for some serious value? (and hope 2 get a bit lucky)

I didn't even realize you raised preflop... Never check the flop when you raised preflop, esp from UTG... it sends flags out like mad
