Just think "fuck it, who gives a shit".
If that doesn't work, think about all the difficult situations that worry you, then think about a solution, if there is one.
Or if practical thinking isn't your thing when you're insomniacing, just put on some nice trippy music and imagine the world where all your problems are gone.. Live in it for a half-hour or something.
Thats the kinda of answer I was looking for. I ended up pretty much saying fuck it, who gives a shit. I actually got up at 4 and went to my desk and wrote out a bunch of shit I wanted to get done today. Ive started on it already.
Being able to forget about it is the key (writing it down is supposed to help). I recommend simple breathing exercises. It gives you something else to concentrate on and naturally induces sleep.
If you're having trouble sleeping over a sustained period or have real anxiety issues, then that's another matter - you need to speak to a healthcare professsional.
