Default A hand I REALLY don't know how to play...

This is a BnM NL tournament I played in over the past weekend. It was early in the tournament. There were 15 of us and chip stacks were pretty even amongst us (somewhere around 1000). Blinds had just gone up to 50/100. The SB is unknown. First time I ever played against him. He seemed to be relatively loose/passive. Saw him call down a hand with middle pair. BB is my Dad and very well known. He will chase with mediocre hands preflop but if he misses, he'll throw them away. Here's the hand:

I'm in EP and get KK. I raise it to 300.
    SB calls.
    BB calls.
    Flop is: 10h 2s 7c
    SB bets 300.
    BB folds.
    I re-raise to 600.
    SB calls.
    Turn is: 8d
    SB bets 300.
    I call (all-in).
    River is: Ac
Honestly, knowing what I knew about this guy, I put him on QQ or JJ. What hand would you put him on and why?

SB bets a third of the pot. This is not protection of the best hand; this is a bit of juice. I suspect 98o at that point. If he's a tool, it might be a dumb way to play AT/KT. If he's real crafty it's a great way to play a set.

Assuming he's on the draw, you did exactly what he wanted -- minraised, making his call "correct". Should drop the hammer there; KK wins a small pot or loses a big one.

esp. esp. esp!!!!!!1 considering you had <300 left? !?!?! All your chips go in on this flop, with that bet. Every time. If he bet a gutshot (J9) like that and beat you, well, that sucks. If he had a set, okay. That sucks to. And so on.

I suck at this, but my guess 89, he's got an open end-ed str8 draw....

It'll be interesting to see the answer...

If the minraising master Lefou tells you you shouldn't have minraised on the flop and instead should've shoved, you know that's what you should've done.

As for reading, the stacks are too small to make a good read, since the only real meaningful play is his lead on the flop. Of course he calls your minraise, of course he goes all in on the turn when he / you only have 300 left. Those are basically automatic plays with any hand he has.

I believe you played the hand well. If he has TT, or less likely, 77 that does indeed suck. More often though he'll have paired his ten, or like they've pointed out be on a straight draw, so I would put my chips in the middle as soon as possible.

Actually, the guy had AA and hit a set on the river, not that it mattered. I was in complete shock when he turned his cards over. Not so much that my kings were beaten but that he played AA the way he did. His failure to raise my bet preflop led me to believe that I had him beat going into the flop and post-flop.

He might have purposely played it that way to make you think you were ahead the whole way.

Obviously he outplayed me...he had all my chips when it was all said and done. The question is, HOW did he outplay me? If I had it to do all over again, I would have gone all-in after the flop but he would have called me and the end result would have been the same. How can you get away from kings in a hand with no overpair and nothing filling on the flop?

Get reraised and see an Ace on the flop. Usually you have to let go.

But generally you cant get away from KK
