For some reason I was thinking 50bb would be better..

I agree. I think more just puts you in no mans land. 40bb might even be better.

I was thinking though, maybe pick something random so you look like a dumbass playing with your last 22.45 or something. Then, when you re-raise pre-flop, the big stacks will probably put you all in with out having a whole lot.
