Plugging leaks

I really need to plug some leaks, my graphs are constantly up and down, jagged, horrible things. I think most of it is playing tired, and not quitting when i should, playing without any focus.

I really need to do more work with PT, looking at whatever i can, and sorting it out, but i'm not totally sure where to start. i used to do some basic checks when i was playing fr, but shorthanded i'm not sure how much applies.

what kind of stuff should i (and all of us) be looking at regularly? where do i look to really find my leaks? anythin will help.

some common leaks.
playing drunk.
thinking the villain is bluffing all the time
bad hand selection
being distracted
playing to many tables
not playing enough tables, so your getting bored always folding, then play some crap like J9 .
talking on the phone when playing
knowing your beat but calling anyway, just to see if you were right.
posting your blind as soon as you sit at a table
not raising your big hands preflop
slow playing your decent hand after the flop
chasing your OESD or Flush draw without the right odds
limping in, then calling a raise with crap you shouldnt even have limped in with.
playing on tilt
and alot more....

I'm a pro at this leak! Facing a big bet... telling myself in my head what the guy has... and then calling anyhow .. and taking consolation that i'm at least getting better at reading hands.

Personally, at the end of each session I look through my hands and sort them by biggest losers, and then I see where/why I lost my biggest pots of the night. Decide which spots I should have saved money, and how.

thanks for the link, used to have it but lost it on my old pc.

the list is pretty good, obvious stuff but just readin them has made me think of some obvious problems.

fancy play syndrome has creeped in recently, maybe more tables are needed. playing draws fast oop, part of the boredom again, and not a good idea multitabling. some tilt from bein pissed off with my job, or playing too late at night because its the only chance i'll get for a few days.

how about this then. what would you guys look at if you had someones PT data and had promised to improve them and find some issues with their play? stuff beyond vpip and pfr, and filtering for pairs and big starting hands, and position stats. or is that mostly all i need to do?

I'd go to Game Notes, click Get All, sort by "Net" and look at how they lose big pots.

This is good advice. Back when I used to play all the time (I still play, just not nearly as much as I used to), my game took off after I started analyzing my "biggest losers of the night" hands. After a few days/weeks of doing this, patterns started to show and I was able to lay more hands down when I should and my profits soared.
