Default too loose with T9s mp?

Bad play? I find myself doing this type of thing a lot in middle position with < 6M, and I get busted most of the time by an opponent calling with overcards, a high pocket pair, or sometimes a lower pocket pair. Rarely do they call with a worse hand. Most TAGGs I play with seem to avoid a push in my situation until they get down to < 3M.

Haven't run this in SNG Wiz but my guess is that it's probably slightly to moderately -EV from UTG+1. You'd be surprised at how tight you need to be from the early positions.

With SnG Wiz's standard calling ranges this particular shove is exactly break-even. So its correctness depends on whether the opponents left to act (especially the blinds) are on the looser side or on the tighter side. Since it's the $6.5, I'd assume they're mostly on the looser side, making the shove slightly incorrect. It's not horrible, though, especially if the blinds are about to go up or if the big stack is bullying the table aggressively, thus rarely giving you opportunities to steal from better positions.
Rarely do they call with a worse hand.
Well you can't really expect someone to be willing to call such a shove with T8. The value of suited connectors is that they are rarely far behind (as opposed to small pairs or Ax type of hands that get their value from occasionally being ahead, but are sometimes heavily dominated.)

It's a fairly tricky hand to work out in SnG Wiz. You can't just set the calling ranges. You have to set the ranges for the other players if you were to fold as well. With fairly tight pushing/calling ranges it's a marginally +EV push. But I think the chance of being called might be fairly high at the $6.50 and also the chances of other players going at it could be high too. I guess you've gotta consider how loose the table is, does anybody know you there as someone who can push wide?

I think with 7BB I'm going to let this go. If you had 4-5.5 BB I think it's a different story. I like to add about 1% to pushes that are going to result in maintaining fold equity (I feel if you have about 4.5BB + people aren't just going to call you down with A2C typically).

with Tai here. i have a knack for laboriously sitting with wiz and studying this kind of thing. slightly worrying.

would feel so much more comfortable shoving from the cut-off.

Does your chart include number of opponents, their stack sizes, and calling ranges?
