    Default Improvements for next WW

I'd like to start some discussion on what was good about the last WW and what was bad. Also would like to discuss any needed changes or new requests.

    A few things
    • Day/Night Time Limit
    • Two bad guy teams - balance teams out? No 4 v 1?
    • Use of email for special roles

    A few ideas
    • Mandatory lynch during day - Villager must vote for a lynch by deadline. If majority vote is reached not voting is forgiven but if deadline is reached and there's still people without votes, they're given a warning for first offense and modkilled second time
    • Longer days? 72 hours?
    • Different/new role?

The time limit and use of emails seemed good. Cant really say much about the two teams though, the joker didnt even get to kill anyone before he kicked the bucket, so its effect is kinda unknown. I guess thats what happens when someone that is expected to do well gets picked, but i think the game would have played out a lot differently if a late game player got it instead.

I'd love to experiment more with the two team system though.

Im not sure how i feel about mandatory votes, but i feel your solution is good. I dont think I've ever not voted twice in a row...and the only person i can remember that may have who was actually doing it strategically was gabe. Thing is though, this will really just encourage "lynch x" posts that have nothing in them. To really solve the issue we'd need to do something that gives people that arent roles incentive to play and post...but im not sure how to do this.

Joker killed a mobster last game I think... flomo?

I agree we should balance the two wolf teams a bit. Maybe 3 vs 2 vs the village? 4 vs 2 vs village depending on how many ppl we get?

I like bigred's proposed solution for inactives a lot. I also like a 72 hour deadline. I found that I was sick of the game by the end because I felt forced to spend time playing it when I didn't really have time, and that wasn't really fun.

Im opedipus bitch, the original balla.
Yeah the 4 v 1 team system was a bit much. I really couldn't foresee an outcome where I (the Joker) could win. I did get a kill btw JKDS. I offed Flomo on Night 2, who I was pretty sure was a mobster. Not really sure if that was the proper strategy, but I didn't have any clues on the Vig or Seer at the time, so assumed reducing the number of mobsters would reduce the chances of me being killed at night.

I think the modkill system is basically fine. It's the villagers' jobs to weed out the others like guys that post enough to stay in but don't actually contribute. For some reason the village hates lynching guys like Juked but insist on jumping guys like Gabe right away. That's their own fault.

how about when people leave a vote hanging to allow a defence and deadline would be gone overnight for euros before a defence from a US playercould come ....leaves us either having to bold a vote to avoid a modkill or ensuring a kill without a defence.

Could the intended votes they be counted in the case of a tie?

I think the set up we had last game was the most balanced one yet designed.
Also, the time limits were excellent.
I think mandatory lynches is good if you mod kill people who don't lynch two days in a row. What if I vote the lynch, and later rescind ending with no vote on a day following one where I submitted no lynch entirely? I think that should be fine, since you'll likely get your ass hanged for those activities.

won't people just vote and insta rescind then? and they still don't have to contribute to the game but sidestep a modkill.

yeah, but isn't it better to find and lynch wolves than lynch people who can't be bothered to play because they aren't special role.

I'd rather get rid of the noncontributers, they spoil the game a bit.

They're easy to act around. Just ignore 'em. If you lose because of them, who cares?

If you're saying you want to mod again, I was operating under that assumption anyway.

If you're saying you don't want to mod anymore, I'd love to take over.

only the people who have modded can really answer this , with Bigred in the last game he was in the reply list for all the emails.Does it make it more enjoyable to mod if you see the plans being laid, false theories on special roles, rather than just receiving a kill email from the wolves. With the old wolf forum Lolz was able to see it and just wondered whether you would like that in any rules going forward.

I'm fine with either way. It was nice seeing you search out Stax, TLR, and Courtie. At the same time, my phone was blowing up on every response. So I'm fine with either.

I think the email format isn't the best mode for discussion. A private blog or forum would be a better platform.

Mods should always have access to wolve's communication if for no other reason than to ensure dead wolves don't contribute to strategy.
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

I have an offsite wolfy domain name & hosting account if anybody is interested in setting up an all things werewolf site. At the very least I could set it up with a private forum, WordPress MU or some such to be used for private wolf chat (and perhaps the hidden dead thread that Keith keeps on about.

The longevity of WW on FTR is a good sign for making it worth doing. Just throwing it out there...

I think the best improvement would be running a new game.

as a clarification.......Is there any penalty for editing a game thread post now that the vbulletin software doesn't show the last edited message. Is there any way for gmml to reactivate that message for the WW threads or do editing posts show up on the admin side of the \Vbulletin .

As a fall back position should bigred be taking regular screen shots so that if someone alleges a post edit , big red has a copy of the original to go back and check.
