Default Analysing regs + Note taking

I think this might have been discussed before, but I'd like to hear if anybody analyses other reg's play in depth and would like to share their method. I guess the most important thing would be putting them on a solid push % from different positions and stacks. Does anybody take it much further than that? EG What flops they c-bet or hands they open limp with. I would like to spend more time on it but I'm wondering whether it's a justifiable use of time.

Also, notetaking. What notes does everyone take and do you use any useful shorthand? One that I picked up off someone here was:
High Blind Limper (HBL): fairly self-explanatory, I also note how likely they are to limp/fold. Limping in general is something I'll often note, whether they are likely to complete etc.

Another useful note I take is what their default stealing action is. Some players will only move all-in when they hit 10BB or slightly more (myself included). Others will standard raise their strongest hands and shove all the rest. Some will only standard raise and often fold to resteals.

I also like to note anybody who tries to get tricky postflop playing the Scandi or anything like that.

Anyway, I'd love to hear what you all do.

Analysing regs' play is something I definitely need to do more. Their push/fold game is generally solid, but they can be very exploitable in the early stages, so there's lots of money in finding out their patterns. I haven't developed a good way to do that yet, tough. Need to get more comfortable with HEM's options.

As for note-taking I do it quite excessively. Most of these notes I will probably never base my decision on, but the habit of constant note-taking itself helps keep focus on the game. For effectiveness, it is useful to create a system of abbreviations for all the basic words you need: positions, actions, bet-sizes, hands, tendencies, etc.

I use AHK (autohotkey) to take notes.

Keystrokes that I dont normally use together are used for shorthand notes, that expand out into fuller sentences.

So, typing "5" followed by "/" produces 5xbb raise

to produce a sentence like this :-

    flat called a 3xbb raise w/

    I type " fc/3/"

keystrokes fc/ produce flat called a
    Keystrokes 3/ produce 3xbb raise w/

    Ive loads of shortcuts .

Edit, it took me longer than normal to answer to this thread cos everytime I used the "/" key a poker note would type its self out..

Since I play lots of tables at once I tend to keep notes on exploitable plays like MR-F means, min-raise fold, or MR-C KK, min-raise call with KK. This helps build a history on whether a play is limping monsters or speculative hands as well. I keep other noteworthy plays, but mostly I'm too busy to see and record what type of hands villains are c-betting etc.

I probably don't do as much note taking as I probably should, but I definitely make notes if players make an unusual/unexpected/unorthodox play, particularly if they are regs.

That said, the most commonly used word, and it probably isn't that useful as a note, is the word "DONK".

    I think the same.

Although taking down notes could sometimes be handy they say.

At the 6.50 9 man level i use a lot of color coding for ease of multitabling.
Red- unknown regular / Purple- solid reg / yellow- nit reg / green- crazy reg
As far as taking notes on regulars, i'm actively paying attention to their shove/calling ranges, when they change gears, how frequently do they steal/defend their blinds, and bubble/HUP tendencies. The rest is mainly spontaneous. I also like to note some inferences made from HUD stats in the notes because i like to pull up notes on the regs before i even get into tough spots against them IE 1st hand headsup or bubble spots.
