Default So I folded KK preflop early in a deepstacked donkament...

$5 MTT, deepstack tourny, about 5 hands in. Private game where players are generally quite weak-tight. UTG stats: 27/3, 3% steal 2.7% 3bet, over 90 hands

Hero cries and folds because I highly doubt AK is in his range, probably not even QQ based on the timing tell. It sure looks like he thinks he has the nuts. And a guy with a 3% PFR certainly knows what the nuts are.

    Flame away!
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

depending on your stats/image I guess it's OK. Don't agree that insta shove means he's stronger, would expect more hollywood.

don't like the 3 bet given tourney description.

    OP doesn't know this but

I played this tournament and had this guy on my left for 159 hands. Of course the blinds were higher then but I had him at 19/9, 3% 3-bet. When he was shorter stacked he cold 4-bet shoved TT over my 3-bet.

Have to think that...if he has AK or QQ here, he probably isn't folding, so what is he going to do with it?

sorry, just noticed he limped UTG. bah, I guess fold is OK.

edit: on other hand he's passive enough to limp AK UTG. IDK, dumb spot.

I d hate my life here... for like 2 seconds and then probably shove.... You are right to fold here though, for the reasons already mentioned

    Agreed

My thought process was that he probably would limp-shove AK/QQ/KK UTG, but he wouldn't have done it instantly as he did. Given the stack sizes and action, I believe he would at least have taken a couple seconds to think about flat calling with QQ/KK, or even folding AK.

    Results below:

    I fold, villain shows KK

If your the best player at the table feel free to fold because all you need is time . Given enough of it you will accumulate all the chips. I have folded AK there.
