Default Are you prepared for unexpected backwards timetravel?

Cos I'm so not. If I were to just fall into a wormhole and arive at 2000BC I would have nothing to show for. I can't even build a steam engine!
I know how a wheel works. But idk if I could fashion one that would work in the usual manner. I'm thinking about getting Amazon.com: Internal Combustion Engine Fundamentals (9780071004992): John Benjamin Heywood: Books: Reviews, Prices & more

It's a bit pricey. But if you take into account that this could be immensely useful BOTH in the event of unexpected backwards timetravel AND nuclear/zombi/amazon holocaust, it's the bargain of the century.

2000 BC and you want to build an engine?

If I found myself in 2000 BC, I think I would be OK as long as I could manage to create an alcohol distillery.

I bet I get my distillery up before you get your steam engine working.

Yeah, but also. How would you create an engine in 2000 BC? I think I could maybe create a distillery; but an engine requires resources and skills that you'll never be able to pull together in 2000 BC.

The first steam engine was built in 50AD without anywhere near the knowledge of science we have now. The chinese were doing some pretty crazy shit already in 2000BC so with a good head from today and some people that use the tools of then regularly, then yes, we could build a steam engine. However, if Oscar was gonna get me to help him with it he'd better get hooked up with you and your distillery cuz I aint building shit without something to drink.

Do you have some sources? A 50 AD steam engine link would be an awesome read.

Don't get too hung up on 2000BC. Wormholes, like phonebooth and whirlpool timemachines are very unpredictable by nature. I'm saying that even if I had the necessary resoucres to build an engine/computer/doomsday device, I would lack the know-how and mechanical skills to pull it off. And that I think is embarrassing for a 21'st century man.
That's why I really like the idea of synthesizing drugs in some manner to help you subjugate the men and seduce the women.

If you can't fashion a wheel what good would a sweet V8 be? Isn't the only point of having the engine so you can cruise in a sweet Camaro looking for Phoenician babes?

Okay, I'm gonna fire up the time machine now. Since it's a first run, I'm only gonna try to go back 15 minutes.

The wheels are the easy part. Link them together and figure out how to steer the damn thing. Now the problem is not pumping out YouTube - The Hellion/Electric Eye - Judas Priest at high volumes, figure that out and rule the world.

When I was 10, I reasoned that two Warpes could exist in the universe together since even a Warpe one minute older than another Warpe would be different at a cellular level because many thousands of cells would be dead and or manipulated in older Warpe so they wouldn't be exactly the same being but he would change history so it would still be bad to have two Warpes present at the same time period, ldo.

When I was 10 I also thought that if I were able to stop time, I would use my power to touch older ladies' boobies.

I'd have to carve rocks to make a deck of cards, teach them poker and then win all their fruits and nuts.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

Pretty sure I would start with weapons and a fishing rod. If you can't build a fire and eat, you really can't live in any time.

I would also like to ask everyone to please stop stupidly and incosiderately putting the continued existence of this universe at risk through unnecessary time travel in this thread. The grandfather paradox is not a joke! Millions of galaxies implode every year.
