    Default 77 in SB

This seemed like bad spew to me. I'm close to getting set mining odds here probably, paying 500 to get villains stack of 4883. Then a decent flop came and I thought there was a good chance I was ahead, so I check/called with the intention of firing on the turn with another good card. K scared me a bit so I checked, villain fired again.

Do you just fold 77 pre here? As played c/f flop? Better ideas?

No reads on villain. I was fairly new to table. He was 35/12 over 17 hands.

re read these two a couple times.

Anyway I think folding pre is fine, this is probably about the top of my fold range. Your line is OK from there.

Yeah I think that's why it felt terrible to me afterwards. I called thinking I was set mining, then changed my mind and decided the hand was playable. :/

and you're totally right, your hand is probably still ahead of his open range. Problem is we have to get to the river to see the equity. With no post flop read and 25+BBs it is really hard to play PPs HU OOP (even IP compared to over card hands/SCs). Have you read mcat's thread in the digest?

Thanks drmcboy. I had read the mcat thread but I just had another look. Good thoughts in there.

I was thinking 9% of my stack was a lot to commit for set mining, so I think I would have open folded 22-55 or so. The 77 was just high enough that my mouse drifted toward the call button. I think next time I'll fold it though. As you and mcat say it just sucked post flop, particularly oop.

From a begginers point of view, my biggest spew is (was) chasing sets when not appropriate. Since I started to correct this, I get better results
