So, after a crappy poker day yesterday, I went skiing and then to a pretty cool concert. The band was Braids, and they have a chance to get pretty popular in the Indie rock scene in North American. They have a couple great songs, and the rest is this kind of metasomething that sounds nice but the lead singer (a girl with an awesome voice) kind of gets lost in it. Their breakout type song is 'Lemonade' BRAIDS on Myspace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads . It was also marred by a portion of the hipster scene that were there only to be seen and not to actually listen to music. So fkn tilting when there's this awesome moment in the concert and there are a group of girls chatting above the decibel level of the music about where they're going after. STFU BITCHES!.

Ok, today's a big poker day, I'm highly motivated to right the ship.

Obligatory pics of winter awesomeness. I should've taken a picture from the top since the mountain is surprisingly good for being only an hour out from the city. It obviously can't compete with Tremblant but my friend still managed to trap me by telling me to 'follow him' down a double black diamond and I almost died when I tried to slow down on some icy patch and just powerslided 100 metres down the hill.

And this is the goon you'll be dealing with in this thread:

Just put in 1100 hands, about to grab some lunch and then put in another 1k hopefully followed by some exercise. Poker content time:

Ended up a BI, but really should have made so much more. I didn't death run, but I made some marginal plays that I would like to have back. I also noticed there's some laziness creeping up in my game. I'm making some flop calls OOP that are just plain bad, and spots where c/raising is clearly better than c/calling.

    Here's one:

    No-Limit Hold'em, $2.00 BB (6 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    MP ($135)
    CO ($294.25)
    Button ($212.20)
    Hero (SB) ($201.40)
    BB ($237)
    UTG ($209.50)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A, 4
1 fold, MP bets $6, 1 fold, Button calls $6, Hero calls $5, 1 fold

    Flop: ($20) 2, 5, 4 (3 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $15, 1 fold, Hero calls $15

    Turn: ($50) 8 (2 players)
    Hero checks, MP checks

    River: ($50) J (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $37.50, Hero folds

    Total pot: $50

    Results:
    MP didn't show
    Outcome: MP won $85

Here's a marginal play that cost me: Villain seems pretty stubborn and I'm 3-betting a lot and he's calling lots. The truth is, I timed out on the flop and was just going to b/fold but when I saw him stab I figured he's betting ATC here. Then when he shoves I think I'm priced in enough versus his J10-78 and underpairs enough to make the call correct...close though.

    No-Limit Hold'em, $2.00 BB (5 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    MP ($200)
    Button ($263.50)
    SB ($274.65)
    Hero (BB) ($220)
    UTG ($313.60)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A, 10
2 folds, Button bets $6, 1 fold, Hero raises $19, Button calls $15

    Flop: ($43) 8, 8, 9 (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $27.50, Hero raises $73, Button raises $215 (All-In), Hero calls $126 (All-In)

    Turn: ($441) 3 (2 players, 2 all-in)

    River: ($441) 4 (2 players, 2 all-in)

    Total pot: $441

    Results:
Button had J, J (two pair, Jacks and eights).
Hero had A, 10 (one pair, eights).
    Outcome: Button won $481.50

I ran into a few sets in reraises pots with AK on A high boards which sucked, but this hand incited in me the strongest ' fuck me please don't let this be a megadownswing' reaction. What's his equity on the flop? 1% or something?

    No-Limit Hold'em, $2.00 BB (6 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    Hero (SB) ($208.30)
    BB ($194)

    MP ($383.65)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 4, 4
1 fold, MP bets $7, 2 folds, Hero calls $6, BB calls $5

    Flop: ($21) 3, Q, 4 (3 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, MP bets $14, Hero raises $48, 1 fold, MP calls $34

    Turn: ($117) Q (2 players)
    Hero bets $153.30 (All-In), MP calls $153.30

    River: ($423.60) 3 (2 players, 1 all-in)

    Hand 1
-A4 hand, yah for sure fold river, but I'm tempted to shove.

    Hand 2
    - obv spew. I'd rather c/c and c/bomb turn than this.

    Hand 3
