can you post some general comments on playing the CAP games, like whats ur cbetting strategy?

when someone calls your open preflop you put them on a range and make an assessment of how they will play it on the flop and go from there. same thought process used when playing deeper stacks.

the difference is basically the SPR and how it will loosen up requirements for getting all in a bit as well as creating a jam or fold portion of preflop play for certain scenarios.

edges in cap are way smaller, thus blind defense becomes a priority. if you are a nitty bum hunter folding your BB 80% to steals and you want to give cap a try because you see some huge fish playing you better prepare yourself for some brutal rape from the competent regulars.

as for further comments idk, variance is a bitch lol. don't walk into the game thinking you will crush it right away because it takes awhile to get the hang of. last thing ill say is making a bad call is worse than making a bad 3bet shove. if you want to learn more about cap the best way to do it is sit down and mess around with pokerstove or something and do lots of work off the table post session.

one more thing about cap: I wouldn't recommend learning it before reaching a level of decent competency playing 100bb deep. I also probably wouldn't bother playing it if I wasn't going for SNE as a large source of profit from these games is going to be in the form of rakeback/bonuses. unless of course your lowest stakes played is like 5/10 or 10/20..then you could probably make enough off the tables to make it worthwhile without having the benefits of SNE.

poker plans: i should have enough of a roll to grind 10/20+ so i will probably scale back on volume until 2012 and take some more shots in bigger games. i have been a bit this year but keep having to stop after losing 10k so i dont go busto lol. will most likely be just grinding 2/4 for most of the year. starting to table select 100bb a bit when cap games are in low supply or crappy.

i wanted to get into playing more tourneys. if im well ahead of pace in the spring ill probably start adding them to the grind.

I wouldn't really say I have amazing work ethic. I'm just bored and have no life so I grind a ton - although I guess I do balance pretty well with spending time with gf/doing other things but I don't really wast much time going out getting drunk every weekend or shit like that. I also haven't played video games for more than 5-10 hours this year and that definitely helps translate into more free time for poker. I won't be getting back into golf this summer as it is just way too time consuming...so I guess I'll be lacking a good taste of the outdoors, but it's just a sacrifice I'm going to make to get my career moving forward.

I'm at 315k VPPs and just unbanned myself from 25/50 so hopefully things will go well over the next couple of weeks as I leave for NYC May 2-6.

hopefully everyone's grind is going well and ship it holla its spring and I see GRASSSSS!!!!
