Default BOOM: The Incredible Story of Online Poker

BOOM: The Incredible True Story of Online Poker (Trailer #1)

I was gonna post this in the randomness thread but figured it'd be talked about enough that it can sustain its own thread.

I'm pretty excited that people will be able to watch a movie depicting online poker the way it really is. It's one thing to read about it but another to watch it.

    Thoughts?
That's how winners play; we convince the other guy he's making all the right moves.

Sucks that it looks like a lot of it is gonna be following that annoying kid who wore the suit all the time during the wsop.

I used to think the same but then realized it was "bond (whatever)" on 2+2 and thought he actually had interesting stories.

Edit: nevermind he is too annoying. Dammit.

Def. If they wait until 2012 most people (non poker players) will have lost interest.

I've already lost intrest and there is no way to make online poker look OK to most people- not even if it saves cute little kittens.

We don't want it to look OK to most people, just be available to all the people that want to play and haven't since UIGEA

The guys who are making this were on a podcast and they made it seem like the goal is to educate the avg person about online poker. Hopefully they stick to that because its a really interesting story, even if you don't glamorize it.

It can be successful in sort of in the way Exit Thru the Gift Shop was. Both the culture of the graffiti artists and online poker players are almost unknown to the masses and they both are hobbies that can lead to lots of $$ and fame

It would be awesome if at the end of the film you find out that Online poker reform doesn't actually exist and they just made it up all along as sort of a "what if" scenario.
