    I don't see what's wrong with having a capitalistic society with the degree of socialism necessary to alleviate the suffering of the masses. Going to the socialist extreme is as bad as going to the capitalist extreme. Both extremes are throwing the baby out with the bathwater without acknowledging the strengths each offers.

    Socialism is villified; it's actually good stuff. A socialistic extreme would be a really good place, but it's arguable that a less extreme socialism that had some capitalism would be better

    People don't really know what socialism is. Family owned business and many small businesses are socialism, for example. In the real world, socialism has beaten the living fuck out of capitalism WRT results. The problem is that people look at cronyism and dictatorships like Soviets or China and call them socialism; they weren't and they aren't. Then they look at Soviets losing to US and claim it was because of economic policy; it wasn't, it was because of resource distribution and post-WW2 infrastructure health
