    Default Songwriters.

    I'm looking for someone to collaborate with on a song I'm writing. Basically a blues based thing. I have the hook and some phrases and need a fresh mind to help it along.

    There's no compensation for this other than getting your own creative juices flowing and I highly doubt it would go past being played in some local bars but if I were to record it you'd have writers credits.

    For any musicians it's a basic 1,4,5 in A minor.

    If any interest PM me and we can hook up on skype. I might try to record the guitar part if I can figure out how to do that without a shitton of hassle.

    I once wrote songs and even played bass in a rock-n-roll band. Then I spent 4 years immersed in physics and engineering text books and homework. I'm supremely out-of-practice.

    I'm not 100% sure I'm interested in an online collaboration, but if you send me what you've got, I'll give it my attention and see if it likes me.

    What type of collab are you looking for? What is the scope of this project?
    Is it primarily consulting? looking for help with lyrics? melody? chord progressions? song structure? themes?
    Is it primarily performance? need vocals? an intro? a hook? a solo? harmonies?

    what is needed is a few people with garage band or similar. Files can then just be happily exchanged. I don't have Garage band sadly but am aspirational in the extreme.

    What BPM are we talking?

    I started working with a local musician on this. Excellent songwriter and singer with kinda meh guitar skills so we're both bringing something to the table.

    I'll check out garage band for sure. This song should prolly be around 80BPM but I always play everything to fast so it's more like 96.

    I have about a minute of video recorded and when I figure out how I'll post it up here if there's any interest. It's really pretty standard though.

    I was in a band in college, and wrote the lyrics for about half the songs. I haven't done much with writing in the past 10 years, but I've started playing some super low-stakes open mic nights in town and have thought about getting back into it. I'll minimally give it a listen and might have some ideas for verses and such.
    So you click their picture and then you get their money?

    Am delighted to see this idea/thread progressing at my kind of lethargic pace.

    May have an iPad or Macbook by the time this gets anywhere

    Almost bought a new guitar today though, am borderline certain I'll get one tomorrow.

    lol... first time I was first to view a facebook video... What do I win?

    That's a solid blues lick, for sure. I'm impressed. Nice use of improvisational melodies in the core riff.

    I don't know if it's just me, but I get a sense of sad denial from the piece. The bridge can go just about anywhere and still feel right coming back to this.

    Haha, gotcha. I don't use a tuner so I tune to whatever is going on in my world at the moment. I was prolly playing to something tuned down a 1/2 step before I recorded that.

    Guess I'm just not an A440 kinda guy.
