    I'd try melatonin before normal sleeping pills. It's something that your body produces naturally, though things like like nights in front of computer screens can inhibit that process.

    I don't take it myself, but it was highly recommended by my sons doctor when he was having trouble sleeping and it's really worked well.

    Take it about an hour before you want to sleep.

    My wife uses melatonin most nights and it works very well for her. I'm pretty sure it's safe to take every night without any side effects.

    You can also try Benadryl occasionally, although I don't think you should be taking that every night. The active ingredient in Benadryl is the same ingredient they use in all the "PM" versions of pain relievers (Tylenol PM, Excedrin PM, etc.) to make you sleepy.

    I take melatonin every night. Works great for me and none of the groggy, hard to wake up feeling the next morning.
