    I play it the exact same, definitely not 5betting this deep IP

    I check the flop almost always in position and go for 2 streets if he checks turn on safe run outs.

    The problem I think with betting the flop is that even the weaker parts of his continuing range still have great equity vs us (barring a few non spade overpairs) and we might find ourselves in a position where we will have to check back turn where he can simply just bet us off our hand otr. Thoughts on this reasoning?

    As played you've kept his range wide with the flop check back so I think call/call is fine, and I think he almost never has a flush/full house and his most likely holdings are weaker over pairs, pocket aces, and 7x's

    Yeah, I was talking about this hand earlier, and felt the same - I initially felt the flop check was terrible, but actually if I do bet like you said he has mostly great equity when he calls and the pot bloats to outrageous proportions that makes the later streets even tougher to play.
