I also would like to know if there is a cross over from online and live games for study, or by studying online I would pick up habits that would not serve me well in live games?

m2m's got a good amount of information about the transition to live games from having been an online pro for a while in this thread.

As far as actually understanding poker and making the right decisions, there's plenty of crossover, but as far as how to conduct yourself at the tables, live has a lot of extra elements that aren't present in online poker.
