You have two options:

1. Let in Muslim immigrants all day every day without checking them out first.
2. Check them out first.

Which one makes it easier for ISIS (and other groups)?

I mean we just had an act of terrorism by Muslim fundamentalists yesterday in San Bernardino that killed over a dozen people and injured more than a dozen others. Paris just happened a couple of weeks ago. What's it going to take before we decide that we need to tighten security and deal with our problems at home before we start trying to take on the problems the rest of the world has? How are we going to beat ISIS if shit like this is happening inside of our own borders?

I guess there are a lot of American Muslims already in the country who are capable of sympathising with ISIS/radicalising...isn't the internal threat potentially bigger than the international....?

Of course there are. Some of them just shot up a place for the mentally handicapped out in California a couple of weeks ago. That just goes to show that we should stop letting everyone in until we can sort out what the hell's going on with the people we have here already.

A good first step in controlling the problem would be to stop letting everyone in just because they say they're a "refugee." Fake Syrian passports go for under $500, and if you have one, they're just letting people in left in right to plenty of European countries. The process to get into the United States if you're a "refugee" isn't much more complicated than that.

No one is wanting to cut off immigration or even refugees, true refugees, completely forever. With that having been said, there does need to be a period of time where we stop and figure out exactly what the hell is going on instead of ignoring that the problem exists out of a fear of seeming like we're not being PC enough.
