I mean seriously, some dufus looks at the data and sees that more kids are getting autism, and there's more vacs now, than in the olden days. So they put 2 and 2 together and get 5.

This is kind of the science behind it however it isn't even "more kids" are getting autism it's the fact that autism wasn't a thing and then it was a thing and now it gets diagnosed more. You could draw hundreds of much more damning things from similar data. In fact the fall of people dying of cancer is heavily linked to autism. Wifi is a cause of austism. Rising life expectancy is a cause of autism. Basically pick a thing that increase in the past 50 years and you can say it's a cause of autism to a similar (a lot of the time better) degree of accuracy. |

When I was a kid autism was only used to refer to really severe cases. There was no Aspergers or autism spectrum or anything like that. If you were unable to communicate and banged your head against a wall you were autistic, otherwise no. The "rise" of autism is pretty much down to broadening its definition.

LDO, what's wrong with you? You want your kid to be autistic? No? Better give 'em plenty of weed.
