This doesn't really make sense. If the UK was the worst place to be, then NI wouldn't be the best place to be. Not least because NI is part of the UK and therefore is part of the same economy as GB, but also if businesses want to locate in NI that implies there's a benefit to not being in the EU.

You seem to be missing something here. If a business is thriving in NI, that's good for the British economy. So if NI is a good place to be, than the UK, as in a non member state of the EU, is a good place to be.
