Alas, I'm sticking to Ong being done in by Rong, who convinced the other two wolves to pounce. And his complete lack of interest is not village helpful. Again, at this point I'm for lynching someone who A) Totally gives himself away; B) Not helping the vil; C) Not being involved. Both Rong and Gator are fitting 2/3 here in day 3.

How common is it for the vig and the wolves to intersect in their choices this early in the game? Strikes me as pretty shocking. I think it also implies that the wolves and vig are on completely different pages. Possibly vig = experienced and got unlucky with read and the wolves = inexperienced and got lucky. Or more likely imo, at least 1 experienced wolf with a good read, and an inexperienced vig.

Oh BTW, Scrounge thinks the Vig is experienced but got "unlucky" AND the wolves are inexperienced but got "lucky." What kinda BS is that? Our Seer, Ong, got schwacked by insightful wolves and our Vig is clearly a jackass noob. Scrounge ain't thinking or talking like a villager.

Not sure if you're just not reading my post closely at all, or if you're deliberately twisting my words. I stated that there were 2 possible scenarios. I also said one was more likely (bolded and red in my post) whereas you cited the one that I thought was possible but less likely (bolded in my post). Really seems like you're just trying to twist my words and shift focus away from yourself now that the heat's on you. More confident in my read now.

I figured out a different explanation for the substitutions. It is possible that all three are villagers and d-hoobs didn't even need to consider what to do about it, which means sub order would be irrelevant. I'm not sure where I stand on who Ong's lookup probably is, but one of the best cases is BID

Bid just screams villager to me. As dies Gray Fox and scourrge, both of whom come off very genuine in very different ways but I think that's hard for noobs to do especially. Rilla definitely leaning villager, he doesn't need to play the way he's playing if he's a wolf, it's just unnecessary. I expect he'll be dead tomorrow.

Keyboard appears to be a wolf that just fucked up. He's looked a bit dodge all game as illustrated by Rilla earlier.

Rilla's analysis of Gabe was great. He'd been pretty quiet but that summed up what little he'd done rather well.

Wuf I keep changing my mind on. It could be that he did what he often does and once he'd got an idea in his head just couldn't let it go. But as a wolf it's so convenient to have someone to battle with and focus on ad you get to post lots without really saying much which is perfect, especially if the battle is an easy win. So I think given how the last two days panned out its certainly feasible that wuf is a wolf.

Keith, I dunno. I can never read him any way. But he makes me feel uneasy. Same with gator. Have nothing to clear either of them and both give off a wolfy vibe but thats not exactky helpful.

GATOR --- Last post was 77hr ago; after having come in 2nd to the Baudib lynch. Absent all of day 3 and obviously no input on events of d/n2 developments. No excuses, no farm chores, or drunken brawls. Just fell off the radar. And on d3, he's been mentioned as wolf-suspect by BID, Gabe, Wuf, and Rong. But gotten no votes d3. Like BID said, “Focus on Gator.”

KEITH --- Blinded 100% by the Ong (incorrect) Seer of me. Defends Gator! Other than that, he’s done nothing d3. With me dead, now what? Could easily be Keith-Gator action; both lying low.

WUF --- I feel his villagery in my bones. D3 he hikes a Rong lynch, then a Gabe lynch, then Me. Has been all over d3 trying to get info.

GRAYFOXX --- First post, d3, is simply “Lynch Wuf”. No reason, no reaction to d/n2 events. Then chirps in another one-liner, “Woofy vibe of BID, gonna look him up.” But hasn’t yet. I’ve liked him as a wolf for a while. And here’s why I like him even more now! A noob wolf rolls out d1 and d2 with typical exuberance then gains the invaluable coaching/mentoring in wolf-den and suddenly shuts up and hunkers down. That’s what’s happened to GF day 3.

GABE --- First to post d3 (after me) but busts out some BS reads right off the bat. Then says we should “discount the inactives” as wolfish. Cold be wolfish. Then he just does some useless banter with Wuf/Rilla over their posts. Then jumps on my bandwagon. But he’s second on votes today and has 4 ppl calling him wolfy: Rilla, Wuf, BID, Rong. Alas, I’m not getting a wolf vibe off him but he’s not doing much of anything. But everyone says that’s typical Gabe.

RILLA --- 100% villager and doing hard work to get the job done.

RONG --- Finally shows up! Posts some vague reads but outs Wuf as woof(?) Humm. Anyway, then he jumps on me. Can’t blame his as I’ve been pestering him to do something all d3. Now that he’s (hopefully) engaged, we might get some reads off him. I’d give him a shot at stepping up and not pick him off simply for inactivity. But if he continues to not help the vil, he’d have to go if there’s no solid wolf tomorrow.

BIKES --- Pops in late despite everything going on and gives a super-BS read list that says nothing about anyone. Then says lynch me just cuz. Okay Bikes. Got anything else to add to the hunt or you just gonna go lie low some more? Has been labeled woofy today by: BID, Gabe, Wuf, Rong. He wasn’t well liked on d1 either. Don’t feel any village coming off him.

SCOURRGE --- Does a pop-in with some very loose reads then hops on my bandwagon. Sounds lazy or wolfish. Then I drunk-text busting his balls and he goes noob-nuclear. Well deserved and well done, I must add. I’m feeling a noob villager here for that. But his slacking off of play has me thinking the same as GF above. Not enough lean either way for me on him.

BID --- Straight up wolf, y’all. No doubt about it. That wishy-washy crap is so out there. And he agrees with basically anything that anyone says. He’s a noob with enthusiasm and an outgoing personality so he can’t help himself from posting. Even though the old gray wolf(s) telling him to STFU. Soulreads me then rescinds cuz I gave him a hug. Then says lynch me cuz of my villagery love language. Calls Keith and Gabe wolves but for no reason. This behavior must be analyzed after I’m gone. I don’t think Ong Seer’d him; wish he had tho.

If KB flips wolf, my first guess is the Rong bold was not a hedge. I'm always thinking these things can be, and may change my mind on that after more read-throughs, but I get a strong vibe from KB that he's trying to buddy up to me. I'm simply not convinced he's convinced that I'm such a major villager and he also earlier said I'm a "strong villager" who is needed to lead the village. I'm just not convinced he would think that as a villager. My play ITT doesn't give anybody reason to think I'm strong or should be a village leader. I suspect to a newb I look kinda stupid. Also his Rong bold looks more opportunistic than a hedge

I've never seen a village tell two players to stfu like this. People tell bigred all the time to contribute and stfu with the cat photos but this is different. This is entertaining.

My guesstimations on the relationship between the two are as follows:

wuf:bdub 2 villagers - 10%
wuf:bdub 1 villager 1 wolf - 75%
wif:bdub 2 wolves - 15%

I placed the double wolf higher than double villy because I have respect for wuf's game. I head baudib did well in his freshman game too.

This game feels like it's still in a Day 1 stage because there's very little to go on.

First we lynched an inactive, then the wolves nommed an inactive, and now it's still just a bunch of Day 1 carry over banter between the ambiguously WW duo.

I am going over every single one of Ong's Day 2 posts. He should have given us his lookup in there. Maybe he didn't, but I think it's a huge mistake to not and I assume he agrees. I don't think he looked up a wolf, and I think he looked up either me or BID. I think if he looked up a wolf he would have been much more obvious about it instead of agreeing with me and calling for Baud's head. I am the only player he made a complete about-face on and didn't think was wolfy at all on Day 2, and BID was the only one where he definitively said he thinks is a villager

It was no secret... the citizenry of Gold Rush urgently needed a victory.

Throughout Day #3, the Cast was distracted and focused at the same time.

Keybored, despite only having lived in the town for a few weeks, had grown to enjoy the long, productive days of riding horseback while herding cattle into town and nearby communities. He had also been a solid contributor to the townsfolk during that time (regardless of his role).

However, someone had to be hung. So when BankItDrew returned from surveying some land just outside of town, he made it a point to bring bikes and gabe with him. No one wanted the newly-arrived Cattle Rustler to escape his fate.

"Get off your high horse, Villain," said BankItDrew after the three had come across Keybored near the now infamous oak tree.

Keybored did as he was instructed.

"We don't take kindly to having our townsfolk killed," snarled Keith as he began tying several lengths of rope around the trusty oak tree branch.

"I don't care how much paperwork I have to file for this... I just want the shenanigans to end," rong muttered.

"Sorry son," scourrge said as he escorted Keybored to where the noose was hanging limply. "It might have taken us longer to figure out if you hadn't been so obvious, but now the time has come to pay for your transgressions."

Keybored stood on top of an empty bucket with the noose now firmly in place. "You're a bunch of fools! Can't you see that the real Villains here are... AAAGGGGGKKKHHHHHHH!"

Apparently no one in the crowd was in the mood for speeches.

Keybored was dead.

Moments later, all members of the Cast were rummaging through Keybored's belongings. A few minutes passed, and then an identifying cloth was found underneath Keybored's saddle.

It was blue.

A waning moon lit up the nighttime sky in Gold Rush. The nearly-full lunar globe was of special significance to the Wolves, who were on the tail-end of a fasting buzz from the night before.

The townspeople were clearly shaken. If all went according to plan, tonight would be the "beginning of the end" for all "Villagers" in Gold Rush. An epic slaughter was so close... the Wolves could perceive the scent of looming mass-pillaging. All it would take was another day or two.

Hounding on all fours, the three Wolves waited at attention outside the General Store, where a500lbgorilla was stocking his shelves with a case of strawberry preserves he had received earlier in the day from a housewife who lived nearby.

"Not much good it'll do to have all this inventory if no one is around to buy it," he thought to himself.

A lightning-quick swipe of a Wolf's paw through an empty window frame nearly decapitated the unsuspecting store manager.

Warm, succulent blood oozed from the hinging head while an appetizing amount of bodily fluids squirted upright from rilla's neck.

The Wolves feasted on rilla's body. It took some stretching, but the carotid artery was just long enough to splice three ways and manipulate into handsome bow ties for the three.

Wolf #1, pleased with his new apparel, headed over to the cash box and withdrew a unique silver dollar which had been dyed blue.

It was now time to head to Mrs. Johnson's house and sample some of the strawberry preserves from the homemaker herself.

"Let the debauchery commence," proclaimed one of the Wolves.

Sunrise... Day #4

Cadavers were strewn throughout the town. Apparently the Wolves had not been satisfied with only one kill (or one sexual pleasure) overnight.

Reports of mass-attacks as well as the devouring of a500lbgorilla were coming into the saloon faster than it took the entrance's swinging doors to stop moving.

None of the Clementines' girls had earned their stipend the night before. The only potential customer who had come in had fled the barroom for some reason.

Clementine Jr. recalled the scene...

"Give me a double," the patron had demanded as he approached the bar, which Clementine had been "woman-ing" while the Cast discussed strategy seated at a table within the hall.

The request seemed strange, but these were strange times. Clementine quickly headed upstairs and brought the customer a man who looked just like him.

That's when the patron had bolted for the exit.

The entire Cast was now gathered inside a bustling saloon as the sun rose from beyond the hills.

Apparently, the Wolves had played out their fantasies on many of the town's women overnight, but had mercifully instantly killed any males they encountered without so much as a poke.

"All we know at this point is that the Wolves aren't attracted to men," one Cast member announced.

A flood of uninspired "Well, I guess that clears you then..." jokes were passed around the table, but it was no use.

Today would have to mark a turning point for the "Village" or else... and EVERY member of the Cast knew it!

seroiusly, in case anybody is confused, if keybored flips wolf, im always lynching gabe and bid. gabe is easily super wolf here, and it looks like he put in the cinch bold since i was starting to attack bid.

so basically if keybored is a wolf then gabe is always a wolf and bid is mostly a wolf. if keybored isn't a wolf, then something fucky is going on

so there you are working on the premise that keybored was coming back wolf and you'd be lynching gabe and bid was most probably a wolf.now we know that keybored was a villager and you are full steam ahead with a quick lynch on gabe and now its bikes as the second wolf and you can't be bothered to guess about the 3rd wolf. what happened to wolf gabe putting the nail in the coffin to protect his felllow wolf BID?

wuf just because you post the most does not make you right. you have shown this game that you can make dozens of posts on 1 page and be completely wrong. keybored seems like a better lynch than you, and i know hes a way better lynch than me (im a vanillager). keybored was forcing things too much, forcing words and reads. hopefully the game gets simpler after hes revealed

Wolves are going to know which of the roles are still alive and which ones act each night. then again ...if rilla was right, are these deliberate mistakes to feign an ignorance of whats going on. gabe's good enough to do it.

without arguing what i know wuf's small point are, ive been trying to think of a way to encapsulate it all. and heres what ive come down to:

to be a good villager you have to always try to help the village. this means working with others to form the best strategy to win the most often. since this is correct, and everyone rational should agree with this, the process of finding wolves should be about spotting who doesnt help the village to the best of their abilities.

this is where im hung up on wuf. i think his dogged witch hunting is terrible for the village. but im not sure if this means hes trying to harm the village or his skills just seem not as good as he'd have me believe. this same thing makes it hard to read ong and keith when they are getting their crazy tone on

I don't think the mistakes are on purpose as wolves just don't go for those types of levels very often. With that said I also disagree with the statement that Gabe the wolf would verify things. I have made these types of mistakes as a wolf. I am still not sold on Gabe being a villager.

I can't pretend to understand the implications of gabe making a mistake like that, but I'm not sold either direction on him.

But also I agree we need to hear from more people. There are still a number of vets who have just been sliding by. In a game with a lot of noobs I would expect that veteran wolves would tend to be less active. Noobs can only really make reads based on text, not past tendencies, so their reads will be more on the active players. I'm still very wary of the guys who have just been coasting by and not contributing much. Bikes is one. Rong even more so - even fewer content posts. Lots of "sorry for not posting, I'm catching up." Can he really be that far behind the whole game? Maybe, but he's not contributing and seems wolfish to me.

I don't like being wrong. I occasionally stop myself from posting who I think the entire team is, but eventually just end up doing it anyways. I think the best thing for me would be to just focus on finding one wolf and not trying to find anymore, because doing so mucks things up. But that's typically not how I roll. It's a personal failing. I fancy a game where I hound dog the entire team and they give up and admit I'm god of ww and they could never defeat me. :eyeroll, I know. It's dumb but that's how my dumb brain looks at things (most of the time)

A lot of my play lately has been a struggle between not wanting to do that anymore yet inevitably still doing it. Oh well, I'm far less bossy than I used to be, so that's an improvement

This is a neat assessment. I think there is more to it. I think you gotta lynch the player that is acting most wolfy. I think this because there are things that are much harder for wolves to do than villagers (hence why they're "wolfy"). But often villagers do a poor job of this or wolves do a good job and villagers get tagged as wolves and wolves get tagged as villagers.

I try to use the rule that you always lynch the wolfiest player, but I think the hard part is getting accurate assessments of what's wolfy and what's not. I could be way off on some of the stuff I think is wolfy. I guess figuring that out is what the game is about.

Consensus building is good. When I started modding, one of the first things I noticed was that the village stands no chance when they're not directional. Also, I've been pushing nobody around. I used to do that, but not anymore.

blaming your problem on your brain is a nice way to seperate yourself from the problem. a sense of wanting separation probably comes from trying to not sound like a wolf and separating your village brain and your wolf brain


also its funny how you admit to liking a style, the rigid nature of which makes you wrong alot. you act like you dont like being wrong but your play style practically requires it
