replace plate armor with chainmail and I'm on board.

Like I said in the other thread, we need weapon customization. Oh, and flamethrowers.

Also cool creative ways for zombies to get obliterated is a must, think the helicopter scene in 28 weeks later (I think it may have been done in the 2000's remake of Dawn of the Dead too.)

A big problem with Walking Dead, outside of the terrible writing, is the horrible lack of variety in action scenes. They are nearly all the same. Same couple of weapon types, same scenarios, same same same.

Could have some of that. It's obviously more mobile, lighter, and practical, but all things considered, things like kevlar or thick leather would be much better. Metal armor is outdated as a motherfucker, but you still gotta have the prospect of like a Viking Warrior Knight crushing skulls as the zombies bounce off his armor. Something like four on one. Like in the beginning of the outbreak, the guy is hiding out in his house, then nearby a car with a woman and her three kids zooms by, swerving out of control, then slides into a wall, then out of nowhere four zombies charge for the car and are trying to break down the windows and shit, then our hero, who never before had worn his full plate (visor helmet and all) in battle, decides to break out of his shell, straps it on, then marches out of his house to save the woman/children, smashes one zombie from behind with his mace, the other three zombies then attack him, but all they can do is scratch and bite the plates, then eventually he's able to stand his ground, not get knocked over and stuff, and smashes the remaining three in an epic struggle for the upper hand, and saves the woman/children. That kinda thing has to happen at least once IMO. Similar renditions involve stuff like OMAR COMIN and blasts seven charging zombies in Terminator like succession

For reals. FWIW, I think something lacking in Hollywood is RPG characterization and storytelling. We have some of it with caricatures like Josey Wales and Rambo, but going even further where the audience doesn't really even need to know some of the characters names, but what they do/look like/use

A demo guy/MacGyver/even Walter White could work

Walter White would have killed blondie long ago, left the young girl to die in the woods and shot her mom for daring to argue.

Kind of hard to come up with a lot of variety unless McGyver is with them... as they don't have access to weapon stores that I've seen them find yet... limited to what they can scrape together... but I do think a visit to a military base is in order.

Dude, there has been abandoned military equip all around. But ya, you're right, they haven't stumbled across a gun store yet-- but wait... THIS IS FICTION, THEY CAN JUST WRITE THAT SHIT IN. The characters don't need to be McGyver, the writers need to stop being slouches and start being creative.

Ok, after the last two responses to my replies, I'll quit giving them any room for improvement, or any slack. I do hope it gets better and hangs around, since it is one of only three or four things I actually watch on television.
