White wonderbread is boring too, but if I'm hungry I'm not going to pretend like I'm too good for a white bread sandwich.
Every other nation's swill is leagues ahead of American swill. American swill is the worst because companies are savvy enough to convince Americans to identify with it

American craft beer is leagues ahead of every other nation, however.

I've heard Americans make this claim before, and I always question how aware they are of other countries' craft beer offerings. It's not like the 'real' craft beer has much if any international distribution to make it to store shelves in the USA, so unless you've spent significant time living in another country...I'm not sure how you can make the claim that american craft beer is "leagues ahead" of beer anywhere else. Even with travel your sample sizes are typically small.

Sounds to me like patriotic overcompensation for being the butt-end of shitty beer jokes internationally.

US pwns the tar out of the competition due to substantially higher quantity and better laws, which increases quality. No other country comes close to competing quantitatively, and Belgium is a good example of a country that makes great beer yet is shackled by its laws.

Here you can see top 50 by country. There are a myriad of other ways to find out. I'm not an expert, and I depend on the thoughts of those I know who are. Even then, when I go looking for crafts and micros, it's insane how much of it is brewed in the US. Maybe about 20% of those I've tried were imports from various countries

The word among the cool folks is that other countries do the best mass produced beer, and US does the best non-mass produced.
