I've heard Americans make this claim before, and I always question how aware they are of other countries' craft beer offerings. It's not like the 'real' craft beer has much if any international distribution to make it to store shelves in the USA, so unless you've spent significant time living in another country...I'm not sure how you can make the claim that american craft beer is "leagues ahead" of beer anywhere else. Even with travel your sample sizes are typically small. | |

US pwns the tar out of the competition due to substantially higher quantity and better laws, which increases quality. No other country comes close to competing quantitatively, and Belgium is a good example of a country that makes great beer yet is shackled by its laws. |
