I don't specifically object to steam or it's associated dongle, it would just make my life a ton easier if there was one dongle for all things.

Also, I played Factorio over the weekend cause it looked interesting. I played through the demo. I liked it, though I don't get why you have a character that has to move near any buildings just so you can interact with them. It seems like an annoying gimmick and the game would have been alot better if it just followed the Sim-City recipe where you can play the game from an omnipotent point-of-view in the sky.

Also, shooting alien bugs detracted from the fun for me. I thought it was fun trying to set up the optimum layout for my factory and generate stuff efficiently. But that kept getting interrupted by a swarm of freaky caterpillars.

Are there options/mods in the full version to fix either of these problems?

Ye but there isn't but your options are still great and cheap. As a consumer it's a really shitty point to moan at. Like you come across as worse than jack moaning about micro transactions.

In other news I recently left my last wow guild, were a few people I didn't get on with that well and I was struggling to make raid times etc. Joined a new guild on trial and it seems to be going ok so far. They don't seem as active as my old guild but much better raiding times and they are much more optimal in their approach to things so we'll see how it goes.

If you can create a generic sandbox map, the bugs can be turned off at world gen. Having done so, turn off pollution, too. Pollution's only purpose is to trigger the bugs to attack.

I recommend trying the mod "Picker Extended Version" for a nice assortment of QoL tweaks. I'm pretty sure there's extended reach which can be modified in the mod settings to accommodate your comfort level.

Now that I think of it, I believe you can use console commands to fake a Sim City style interface, but I never tried it. The Factorio reddit is one of the nicest corners of the internet I've ever seen, so if you're curious, just ask there.
