Today, Bodog.co.uk closed it’s doors for new players on a fairly long list of countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Hungary and Bulgaria. Current players will be able to play at the casino like always, but the site is no longer accepting new customers. Current players also will not be able to play poker, or bet on sports.

Bodog explains that this move is part of their overarching plan, which involves focusing their efforts on specific markets in order to provide better service. Along with poker, they are also closing down the sports betting section of their UK Bodog brand. Bodog.co.uk was recently granted a 5 year licence to operate an online casino for UK-based players. They plan to re-open Bodog.co.uk for new signups in the future when its new Asian-optimized website is complete and ready for launch.

Another Bodog trademark, Bodog.eu, is no longer in operation for new or existing players. However, if you visit the site from an applicable country, you will be redirected to the correct operator. For example, those from Canada will be directed to Bodog.ca. Bodog.eu players will have their current balances paid out in full.

For now, new online poker players from the following countries will be shut out of playing at Bodog: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Hungary, Israel, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovenia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan
