Event 15 of the FTOPS VI was held on Nov 18, the final day for the series. This event was one of the newest ideas and unique tournaments, a No-Limit Hold’em Knockout. The buyin was $150 + $13, and $120 would go towards the prize pool. The additional $30 would be over yours, and everyone else’s head while playing. Each player you knocked out would reward you with $30! Not knowing what to expect, the prize pool was only guaranteed up to $100,000, but 2616 players said it wasn’t enough, making it $313,920! This event was hosted by Team Full Tilt member Erik Seidel. He was 8 WSOP Bracelets and is on the top 10 all-time money list for the WSOP!
With the bounty award, there were many people making some calls they might not otherwise do for an extra bounty. It creates something extra in a tournament and the players seemed to enjoy it. You could not even place in the money, but still make some! Those who did finish in the money would earn at least $376, all the way up to $67k for 1st! When it was all said and done G de Ipanema was on top, earning $67,492.80! I imagine he earned a lot more in bounties as well!
