FTOPS event #15 was no different from the rest of the events in the sense that it absolutely blew through its guarantee of $150k. The $200+$16 6-max event attracted 1,815 players, inflating the prize pool to over double its guarantee, topping off at $363,000! The most notable name in the top 25 was Terry “Asiandude7” Eischens. On top of his online exploits, Terry is known for his 3rd place finish in the 2006 Ultimate Bet Aruba Classic, for $236k. Terry busted 23rd, for $2,178. Another well known pro who made it deep was Shane “shaniac” Schleger. A well-known, and well liked player in the online community, he plays under the name HateItOrLoveIt on Full Tilt Poker and busted in 55th, earning $726 for his finish. Schleger doesn’t play as many online events as in the past, but made a deep run in this big money event.
Out of the players who finished 2nd to 6th, none had really made much of a splash before this event, but that didn’t stop them from grabbing their share of a massive prize pool. However, the eventual winner, Jeff “YoungSupremacy” Hakim has been successful on multiple sites, winning a $100 rebuy on PokerStars before this. Known as “Jeff710” on PokerStars, Hakim has done well over the past year or so. After 8 hours of play, and 1814 other players falling before him, he claimed first place, the FTOPS jersey, and $72,600!
