Black Friday may have kept US players from playing in FTOPS XX Event 42, but 302 players from across the globe still ponied up the $500+$35 needed to play in the event. These players battled it out head to head in this heads-up No Limit tournament that offered a $200,000 guarantee.
Nine Full Tilt red pros competed in the tournament, including poker pro James Akenhead. Of the nine pros that competed, only two were fortunate enough to make the money. Red Pro Martin Kabrhel, who has won 3 Eastern Poker Tour events and has over $2 million in tournament earnings finished 47th for $900. Pascal Lefrancois, a Canadian poker player who finished 11th in the 2010 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event for $635,000, finished 38th, also earning $900.
One player outlasted the rest, though. HaiducF made it through a gauntlet of players to finish first in Event 42. He made a deal at the final table with second place finisher snakaa and earned $32,700, while snakaa took home $30,700.
