On Friday night, there was once again an action filled night at the Full Tilt Poker high stakes tables. This time there were no huge winners, but they still managed to stir up some big pots. Phil Ivey, David Benyamine, and Sami “LarsLuzak” Kelopuro were the only three players to be involved in the biggest pots of the night.

The first huge showdown of the night involved Phil Ivey and David Benyamine. Phil Ivey raised it up to $3k from the button, however Benyamine reraised this to $10k. Phil Ivey would seemingly have none of this as he then raised again up to $31k, which seemed to have angered David Benyamine as he pushed all of his chips in. Phil Ivey called for nearly $75k and turned over QQ. Sadly for him, it turned out Benyamine wasn’t just angry, but he actually had AA, which had Ivey crushed. The flop came 4h 4d 5c, the turn the 6d, and the river the 9s, leaving Benyamine to scoop the $213k pot. After this Ivey immediately sat out, understandably.

However, about ten minutes later Ivey had returned and was mixing it up with LarsLuzak this time. LarsLuzak raised the pot from under the gun to $3k, and Phil Ivey reraised this to $10.5k. The action folded back around to LarsLuzak who pushed his stack in, raising it up to just over $90k. Phil Ivey made the call for the rest of his stack again. This time LarsLuzak flipped over KK and Ivey flipped over…QQ (oops, rough start to the night). Again Ivey couldn’t find a way out of this one and after all the cards were down LarsLuzak was taking home the pot worth over $180k. Again, Phil Ivey decided that perhaps it was time to take a little break (perhaps his wife can console him this time).

Phil Ivey did in fact return after his break. However this time he left the fighting to David Benyamine and LarsLuzak. From the button, LarsLuzak raised his 8c Ac to $3.5k. Benyamine made the call and the flop came 7c Jc 7h. Benyamine checked the action to LarsLuzak who semi bluff raised to $5.4k and was called again by Benyamine. The turn came the Tc, giving LarsLuzak the nut flush. However, David Benyamine actually led out with a bet of $13k. Not showing any fear of the possible full house on the board, LarsLuzak reraised this bet to $44k. Benyamine thought about it for a while and made the call, which brought the 2s on the river. This time Benyamine slowed down, checking it over to LarsLuzak who bet $90k. Benyamine called the bet and LarsLuzak showed his hand, which could only be beaten by a full house. David Benyamine however, did not have a full house and mucked his hand, leaving LarsLuzak to pick up another huge ($285k+) pot.

Phil Ivey was back to battle it out with LarsLuzak in another big pot. At this point, the two were playing heads up and from the button, LarsLuzak raised to $3k, only to be reraised by Ivey to $9k. LarsLuzak re-popped this up to just over $21k, and this time Ivey decided not to get it all in preflop and just called. The flop came Qh 7c Jh and LarsLuzak put in a bet of almost $29k. Ivey immediately pushed all in, for a bit over $55k more, and LarsLuzak called. This time LarsLuzak showed AQ, but Ivey turned over 77 for a set and things were finally looking good for him. LarsLuzak needed runner-runner to win the pot, but the turn was the 4h, which was enough to earn Ivey the win in the nearly $215k pot.

Shortly after, the heads up battle continued as LarsLuzak again raised to $3k from the button with Kd 9d. He was once again re-raised by Ivey to $9k, which he called. The flop came Ad 7d Tc, giving LarsLuzak a draw to the nut flush. Phil Ivey bet $13k and this was called by LarsLuzak. The turn brought the Jh, which gave LarsLuzak a double gut shot straight draw to add to his nut flush draw. Phil Ivey bet $32k at this point, only to have LarsLuzak push all in behind him. Ivey made the call for the rest of his $118k and showed AJ for top two pair. LarsLuzak was about 32% to win the hand, but he still had to have Ivey out of his chair, as losing this pot would be another huge blow. Ivey needed to dodge diamonds, eights, and queens on the river. The river came the 3h though, and Ivey scooped up the biggest pot of the night, which was nearly $350k. That hand just about killed any of the action that was left, and was the last big hand.
