The Scientific Pokernomic Unversity Reliant Taskforce (SPURT) is looking for funding to research “Pseudo-Psycho Interactive Pokernomics” to it’s logical conclusion, unfortunately, we still haven’t received our first dollar in funding.

We really need to get SPURT everywhere in order to progress this amazing new science, and work out if the written word does have any impact on the game of high stakes professionals such as Viktor Blom. I’m having a tough time completing all the forms requesting funding, as the action Isildur1 keeps getting into has been distracting me, so he may be described as both the muse for, and the greatest threat to the science.

Speaking of Viktor Blom, his day yesterday was split into 2 distinct parts, the first of which was against Isildur1 Watch regular Ben “Bttech86” Tollerene. They clashed over several PLO tables and saw 461 hands against each other. While we only caught a few of the hands at a Cap table, they fought over non cap tables as well. Viktor opened out a lead, and never lost it, ending up with a $300,897 win. We have some of the biggest hands below:

The second half of the day was against fellow Full Tilt Professional Tom “durrrr” Dwan, again at the PLO tables. The two battled over 378 hands over 6 different tables. On this occasion durrrr was the victor over Viktor, and managed to wipe out his earlier victory over “Bttech86” and ended up taking $395,275 out Isildur’s online piggy bank. We caught some of the action, and have the highlights in the video package below:

The day ended as a small loss for our favourite Swedish Degen, and he finished the day down $94,378, which made a minimum impact to his yearly profit figures, taking him to $3,388,375.

Days like this are always going to be part of the high stakes player’s life, with everyone’s game evolving and growing, when one top class player makes an adjustment, there can be a lag for another player to “catch up.” This may have been the case with yesterday, for both of Viktor’s opponents, one to Viktor’s benefit, and one to his detriment. Viktor has been playing “Bttech86” consistently over the past few weeks, and he knows his game very well, as well as the adjustments he has made over that time (some of which have cost Viktor dearly). Tom Dwan on the other hand has been off in Macau, playing the ridiculously high stakes cash games there, and most likely making a kings ransom. Viktor hasn’t played Tom much at all since the return of Full Tilt, and as such, won’t have kept up with the changes in his game. Over this relatively small sample, Blom hasn’t had time to adjust to this new way of playing. Viktor was obviously playing well yesterday, and I think given time he can probably beat durrrr over a larger sample, giving him time to adjust, it’s just how much will he lose in the meantime?
