I’m sat at my computer, huddled up in a blanket, trying to rid myself of the last of this flu, and I see Viktor Bom has played another impressively big session on Full Tilt. 2585 hands, over 12 hours. I grabbed a big mug of coffee, opened my word processor, and started to type. I hope Viktor hasn’t picked up my bug through reading my article yesterday, as looking at some of this action, he’s a sick man!

Viktor started off his day with a short 6-Max 2-7TD session, that over 46 hands earned him a nice $21,744 profit. Viktor was then sat at tables waiting for action for the best part of 6 hours before anyone found either the cojones or the bankroll to play him.

The day restarted with Viktor’s new game of choice, FLO8. He was playing at the 6-Max tables, but most of the action was heads up. Over 427 hands, Viktor dropped a chunky $168,294, with recent Isildur1 victim “SallyWoo” reaping the lion’s share of the spoils. Blom has been causing a bit of a stir in high stakes FLO8 recently by consistently beating Sally, who was considered the apex of the FLO8 food chain. We have some of the hands from the return of “SallyWoo” below:

Viktor appears to have rediscovered his taste for No Limit Hold’em, as he spent a fair amount of time playing it at the heads up tables last night. In a format that may have been created for him (the table name “MountDoom” might have been a clue) the action was at the $500/$1000 $30k Cap tables. Viktor’s opponent was German heads up specialist “SanIker.” It might be that Blom is rusty at NLHE, the game has moved on from when he was an apex predator, or “SanIker” was running hotter than the sun, because he ended up losing a significant $271,225 at these tables. We have some of the action below for your enjoyment:

Viktor also had a recurring matchup against Ben “Bttech86” Tollerene over several PLO tables. With the battle raging over both 6-max and heads up tables, it seemed that no-one else wanted to get in between these two, as the games resolutely stayed heads up.

Viktor dropped a chunky $121,592 to the former Leggo Poker instructor. we have some of the 855 hands for you below:

This was not a good day for Mr Blom, as he ended up dropping $539,366 over all the action of the day. I’m not sure, but I have a feeling he may have already travelled to Australia for the WSOP event taking place there. His recent hiatus from the online action, and the timings do point that way, and if my guess is correct, the time zone change may have been part of the list of variables blunting Viktor’s edge.

Viktor is still up just over $3.7Million for the year, so I won’t be crying into my beer for him just yet. I will however repeat some of my previous analysis on Viktor’s game. While he is undoubtedly one of the best poker players in the game today, his game selection and session control can leave a lot to be desired. When Viktor isn’t playing his “A” game, he is vulnerable to exploitation (as are we all) and should really consider stepping away from the game. If Viktor could learn this single trick, I think his losing days would be much smaller than they are currently. By trying to play his way out of a slump, Viktor isn’t in the correct mental space to play his A game, and tends to spiral downwards, building loss on loss.
