Jamie Gold

As part of a recent $180 million facelift for Tropicana Las Vegas, Jamie Gold has been announced as their new poker spokesman/ambassador. This coincides with the grand re-opening of their newly renovated poker room, which has been renamed “The Jamie Gold poker room.” The Tropicana, which opened in 1955, has undergone over $2 billion in renovations since 2006 in an attempt to keep up with the newer and bigger Las Vegas strip casinos.

Patrons will have a chance to play against Jamie Gold in his new poker room for as little as $100. There are also plans for him to host exclusive high stakes poker games on a monthly basis. Other fan-focused events are also in the works.

Gold is enthusiastic about the Tropicana deal. He sees this as an opportunity to “serve as [an] anchor and a conduit to all of [his] future poker and philanthropic endeavors.” Jamie Gold has come to be known as “The Poker Philanthropist.”

Jamie Gold has kept busy since winning the $12 million top prize at the 2006 WSOP Main Event by doing an incredible amount of charity work. He has worked with organizations such as the United Nations, Global Creative Forum and as Ambassador of the ALS Division of the MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association). His efforts have helped raise over $170 million so far. Jamie’s focus on fundraising has been for contributions to fight ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease). His father passed away of the disease in December of 2006.
